I can't stand this poo anymore

Tanking for a top 5 pick isn't going to help this team, yeah I know Wiggins and Parker will be coming out of the draft in 2014 but, the Bobcats have been tanking for nearly a decade now. If tanking worked we would have had a good team already. If tanking worked so well why did it take the Clippers 30 years to finally become an elite team. We need to stop thinking about. If we ever want to attract big name players we need to stop *tanking* every season... I just got pushed so far over the edge by reading again how we should be tanking. I can't even think clear enough to get my point across. Tanking cam be a good tactic every once in a while for a team like the panthers did to get Newton, or who we thought would be Luck at the time.

Fans don't want to but tickets of a losing team

Players don't want to play for a losing team

Players don't want to come to a losing team

I've been on this forum for god knows how many years now and every single fuging year... it's the same thing lets tank for this guy.. lets tank for that guy. Every time we did we passed up on the actual stars... If we want to be good team one day we need to start winning now.

our tanking has resulted in very unlucky choices in the draft.

However, stock piling draft picks from other teams is a good way to get

a lottery pick while not tanking.

I'm trusting in Cho, partly because I have no other choice, and partly because I

think he is the right man for the job.

It's hard to throw away an entire NBA season for a chance at a player that hasn't

played a single game of college ball.

Who's the bad teams this upcoming season other than us? Sixers? Celtics? Orlando? Phoenix? Utah? Sac? Toronto?

I'm going to put Washington, Detriot, Milwaukee, and Cleveland ahead of these teams. All could make a hard push into the Playoffs next year.

So what's the differences between us (Buzzcats) compared to the teams above? Nothing, except that we added a top tier free agent (Al Jefferson) during the offseason.

Buzzcats: Jefferson, Kemba, MKG, Biymbo, Zeller, Sessions, Gordon, Hendo? McBob, Taylor

Sixers: Turner, MCW, Hawes, Young

Celtics: Rondo, Green, Bradley, Wallace, Bass, Humphries, Brooks, Lee, Sullinger, Crawford

Orlando: Vucevic, Nelson, Oladipo, Affalo, Davis, Hedo, Harrington, Nicholson, Harris, Harkless

Phoenix: Goran, Beasley, Gortat, Scola, Mashall, Morris Twins, Frye, Brown, Dudley, Len

Jazz: Favors, Kanter, Burke, Hayward, Jefferson, Burks, Evans, Biedrins

Kings: Thomas, Vasquez, Cousins, Lopez, Thorton, McLemore, Salmon, Fredette

Raptors: Gay, DeRozan, Jonas, Ross, Lowry, Fields

Other than Philly, I don't see much differences. Chill down on the Playoffs talk. We're still pretty BAD. Anyone who think we're better than these teams must be drunk. Slow down on the beers.

If the bobcats have been tanking for a decade, then that is the worst attempt at tanking that I've ever seen. Because from 2007 until about 2011 they kept trading for expensive veterans who had an annoying habit of winning more games. J-Rich, Stephen Jackson, Boris Diaw, Tyson Chandler, Raja Bell make no sense on a team thats trying to tank.

Coincedently, this may have been why the bobcats did not draft above 8th from 2007 until the team actually started to tank and drafted MKG

If tanking worked and we had actually been tanking, then yes, we would have a good team by now

The Clippers were god awful for 30 years because Donald Sterling only cared about making money and didnt really give a poo about winning games. Looks like he had a change of heart and recently decided to win some games, and their years of ineptitude left them with high draft picks and enough pieces to trade for Chris Paul (and probably convince him to stay)

Here is a short and true point, half the NBA thinks Wiggins is the next Lebron, while all these teams tank, the Buzz should try and sneak into the playoffs since probably a losing record would get you into the playoffs.

The players that everyone wants may not even pan out.  It's such a crap shoot.  Worst team hasn't got the #1 pick in years, it's just silly.   Can we just make a "one tank thread to rule them all" like Bobcats planet?

I've only seen a handful of Wiggins games and some of those were all star games which are not real good for evaluating players.

But from the games I have seen I don't see the next Lebron James. The kid has am enormous amount of athleticism but at this point I don't see him as that transcendent player.

I look forward to seeing him.play more at the college level to get a better feel just how good a player he is and how much better he can be. Every two or three years we hear about the inevitable next great superstar who is coming out if high school but more times than not it usually doesn't end up that way.

The whole point of the shitty lottery in the NBA is to prevent teams from tanking.  Yet some teams suck so epically bad year after year, they tank without trying (ie: Bobcats).

Forget the tanking theory, if we can find any decent to elite players (free agents) that would actually sign and play here, then get them.  That should be our focus.  We'll still have a lottery pick most likely, get another solid piece and look for more free agents next summer.

Agree. Remember Shabazz being referred as the best SG since Kobe? Remember Jabari Parker front cover of SI magazine as the best HS player since LBJ? It's just HYPE. I've seen very few YouTube highlights of Wiggins which I can't base everything off that but it'd be hard for him to be the next LBJ.

The little video clips of Wiggins Ive seen he reminds me of Tracy McGrady. They are both lanky athletic 2 guards. Now if Wiggins can be as good as Tmac in his prime he will be a great player but not Lebron level.

    • Him and Sanders are the only QBs I would consider in the first round. I won’t be upset if we take Sanders, unlike some people on the board. Both have potential to be really good NFL QBs if the teams can develop them.  But as we have seen teams are not willing or are unable to now properly develop rookie QBs.
    • I remember the last time we had a Cam at QB in Charlotte
    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
