If you let Pitkanen go, you open up another top four gap... (Pitkanen had the highes +/- for defenseman on the team last year).

 

Ryan Murphy will never be a top four player, he just doesn't have the size. So unless you think Bellemore is a top four defenseman, there really is no argument for it.

There's already a gap when he plays.  He's lazy, injury prone and his cap hit is 4.5.  You could get some kind of return to fill his spot and the cap room to sign big name and a Chad LaRose for 3rd/4th line.

Don't know, but I would love Pietrangelo.

 

One of my friends in college is a Blues fan, so I've sat down and watched a few games with him before. Pietrangelo is a stud.

He definitely is.  From what I've read they're supposed to be negotiating new contracts with he and Christ Stewart.  They're both RFA's? if i'm not mistaken.  I have no idea what the cost would be let alone how much it would take to sign him.  Mostly a pipe dream because i've seen him play and know he's going to be good for a long time.
