We could potentially have the 1st, 9th, and 13th picks in next years draft...

First pick: Andrew Wiggins/Jabari Parker/Marcus Smart/Andrew Harrison

9th/13th: Glenn Robinson III, Mitch McGary, Dante Exum, Aaron Harrison, James McAdoo

or package it to move up a couple spots in the draft

or package for a proven veteran

I really want the Hornets to succeed.  I was a big Hornets fan, grew up with them and I'm a big basketball fan in general although the NBA lost me for a good while when the Hornets left us and I never felt good about the Bobcats until Cho came on board.

And I have to think with the type of guy Cho is he ran the numbers on this thing.  What big men/post players are coming up in FA in the next 2-3 years and how to they compare to Al?  How many more wins does he factor for Al being here?  Is he going to improve us enough that we've knocked ourselves out of a good chance for Wiggins next year.

i think they've hedged their bets a little bit at being a good team.  Al + the #7 pick next year (worst case) vs. No Al and a +10% chance at getting the #1 pick.

Watch this stupid team win enough in the one year they should try not to. Instead of having a possible 3 lottery picks in the best draft in 10yrs, I'm betting we end up with no 1st rd picks.  So who is playing out of position? AJ is a 4. Cody was drafted to be a stretch 4. Maybe Who can trade AJ later on to a team in need for something else.

2014: Cousins (RFA), Monroe (RFA), Gasol, Bogut, Hawes, Okafor, Bosh (Early Term), Jordan Hill

2015: KG, Boozer, Glen Davis, LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, DeAndre, Chandler, Perkins, Asik, Hibbert (Player option)

We shouldn't look too far yet to 2015 bc it's still a long time from now and it'd be immature to try and build this team for a player two years from now like Aldridge, Gasol or Hibbert.

I think this team can be as good as a 30 wins team with the addition of Al. You gotta sub in Cody also. We really don't know our chances at Wiggins with these additions. It all comes down to the bounces of the balls next year.

And I think you're right on the point with your last paragraph. It just all come down to what's the worst case scenario: Al + no7 or No Al + 10% at no1 pick? I'd glady take Al and the no7 pick. We have the potential to land three 1st rounders (all lottery?) next year. Detriot and Portland are looking like real contenders in making the Playoffs next year so that helps. Just assuming, we could package all three (no7, no9, no13) to move all the way up for a Top5 pick.

Great optimism from a fan.

I'm not a fan of tanking, but it is extremely justified this year.  We're not going anywhere in the East right now with the Miami Heat still around, and this is the best draft in years... we'd be pissing in the wind if we tried to make a push this year.  That Miami Heat team is looking like a dynasty at the moment and we've consistently been a bottom-feeder.  I'm usually not a pessimistic poster when it comes to these things, but I don't see anyway of overcoming that at the moment with our current roster.  We already have a bunch of young guys who could blossom, now let's try to add a potential superstar to that group.

I'm really not understanding the thought process of picking up Jefferson unless they just want to bring him around to mentor Zeller for the future, or hope to set him up as a future piece after we get our best possible pick for this draft.  It would be fuging stupid to take yourself out the running for a lottery pick this year.  If suffering one more year of having a terrible team means getting a player that could potentially turn the franchise around for the next decade then I'm all for it.  I'd definitely take that over a first-round exit for one year.

Tanking over a bunch of guys who haven;t played real competition is stupid.

Harrison Barnes was supposed the be the best high school player since Lebron James also.  He was so highly thought of that he was a preseason 1st team  college all-american before he had ever played one game.

How many of you would tank a season to try and get Harrison Barnes (who is a good player BTW)?

Hopefully no one.

As far as looking at the 2014 Draft, most people wants Wiggins, Randle, and Parker. I'd love to get my hand on one of them too, but I think that getting a Marcus Smart would be a huge piece to building this team to the next level. This guy is more Dwayne Wade than Victor Oladipo will ever be Wade. Even though he plays PG a Oklahoma State, I see him as a SG in the NBA.  We all think that next year draft is going to go somewhat like this: (1) Wiggins (2) Randle (3) Parker (4) Gordon (5) Harrison (6) Smart, but as we see it every year, one or two guys is going to jump up and force some of these guys down a spot or two. Smart has the most chance to drop bc he plays the PG spot compared to the PF/SF/C. We may end up being a no6-8 pick next season putting us right in position to take Smart.
