Nope. Just know a crap movie when I see one. I'll sometimes check rotten tomatoes after watching a crap movie and yep, they agreed.

I have never liked a movie that got below a 40 on Rotten Tomatoes. This got a 23.... Yikes.

 

Rotten Tomatoes is usually spot on and I won't waste my time with this one.

Rotten Tomatoes is hardly the end all be all for movie ratings. A lot of times critics there will pan a movie while viewers give it good ratings. It's all about individual preference. I don't go into every movie expecting oscar noms.

Its not a "for dumb people" movie. The main criticism is reviewers saying its too long. Sorry but that doesn't warrant such a poo score at these aggregate websites and it shouldn't stop anyone that wanted to go see it from seeing it. I almost backed out at the last minute but I'm glad I didn't.

Honestly the idea of breaking down a movie and giving it a score never really made sense to me.  Its all about the context you watch it and what you're expectations are going into it.  You're going to have a different experience watching a comedy with your parents than with your friends, and thats okay.  I can enjoy watching a movie like Fast 6 cause I'm not worried about the plot holes and realism, because thats not what I want from that movie.  Hell, the 5th and 6th movies were better IMO than the earlier ones because everyone making it just accepted that nobody really cared about that stuff

i haven't seen it yet but i'm not holding out hope because it looks like johnny depp plays cpt jack sparrow for the 16th time in this movie.

 

he reminds me more of Raoul Duke than sparrow.
