The media seems to be setting up a redemption story for Cam..which is the wrong angle..

Media had to tear him down from his decorated 1season at Auburn where they could never close on the allegations against him..but a lot of smoke to this if we are all honest with it..but what major college program is not flaming with violations in this day.

Now they have to paint him as the surley, unfocused, gimmick QB when all he did was inspire O coordinators around the league to use spread/pistol concepts in their own offenses with mobile QBs bc of his real on field production.

So when the Panthers start winning and Cam does the "oh gosh this is so humbling" routine in interviews they will take credit how it helped him focus and abandon the "icon" comment which is the equivilant to the LBJ "not1,not 2...." comment at a PEP RALLEY no one can get over either.

Great article without pre-existing bias or summing up his career from a poor national TV showing.

Cool, I'm not going to nitpick and try to paint Cam in bad light, that's my quarterback (enter TO gif), but a similar thing happened in our game versus bears. Concentrate and fight for the ball on every play. I mean some of his teammates were still fighting for the ball...

Humble who needs humble? Most sports legends were not humble. Was Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, Kobe, Joe Namath, Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Dale Earnhardt Sr, Bo Jackson, Deacon Jones, Jack Ham, Deon Sanders, Michael Irvin humble? And that's just to name a few.

That Jets clip is bull. It was preseason.  If he would have dived in there and got hurt everyone woulda talked about how dumb he is for doing that preseason.  He should have had the foresight to know that people would criticize him for being pouty in the face of adversity and acted like he was trying to get the ball without actually going in there.  I mean thats preseason football 101.

I made the mistake of viewing comments on a Zimmerman Trial article yesterday and this article today. Let's just say I thought a little higher of society in general before reading the comments. lol

But then you think how the media operates. Andrew luck is a damn fine quarterback. Might be great one day. Cam is polarizing which the media loves to exploit as villainous. Cam was supposed to be a one trick pony who was more of an athlete than a QB. He's shown otherwise.  Luck has been labeled the incarnation of Joe Montana since he was a sophomore in college. Sports writers hate to be wrong and when they are proven to be, they go out of their way to tear that person down so they can save face. I like to think of myself as objective. When we drafted Cam, I thought it was a huge mistake. I believed the conventional wisdom. I was DEAD WRONG. I like that Cam gets disrespected. I think its going to keep him hungry. Plus its going to be sweet to shove the national opinion up the asses of smug, know-it-all reporters, when this team starts to win.

 

So enjoy the hate. I do.
