• Hearing: Wolves closing in on three-year deal with coveted swingman Corey Brewer in $15 million range—

Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 10, 2013

• The Pelicans have reached an agreement to bring in backup center Greg Stiemsma, his agent told multiple media members on Wednesday. It is a one-year deal worth $2.7 million, according to Ken Berger at CBSSports.com.

• Mavs to sign Wayne Ellington to two-year, $5million+ contract

• Jordan Farmar has agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, the veteran guard told ESPNLosAngeles.com Tuesday night.

• From Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas:

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reports that Dalembert will be the Mavs’ primary target after their pursuit of Andrew Bynum fizzled. A source told ESPN’s Chris Broussard that Bynum decided to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

There simply aren’t many other quality alternatives in free agency to fill the Mavs’ massive void at center, considering that it’s pretty much a given that restricted free agent Nikola Pekovic will return to Minnesota.

I really like what the Pelicans have done...

They...

Re-signed Al-Farouq Aminu

Traded For Jrue Holiday

Traded for Tyreke Evans

Signed Greg Stiemsma

Signed Anthony Morrow

Pair those guys with Eric Gordon, Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, Jason Smith, Darius Miller, Austin Rivers, and Terrel Harris... and they actually have a decent roster.

• Luke Ridnour has been traded from Minnesota to Milwaukee, reports the Star Tribune. The Timberwolves will get a future pick, likely second rounder, in the deal.

• From Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

Chauncey Billups has reached agreement on a two-year contract to return to the Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The deal will be worth $5 million-plus for Billups, league sources said.

Billups, 36, hopes to finish his career where it blossomed in the glory years of the Billups-Richard Hamilton-Ben Wallace Pistons of the mid-2000s. Billups will play the part of mentor for young Detroit guard Brandon Knight, and be a rotation guard off the bench for Detroit.

• They got their man according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Atlanta Hawks restricted free-agent guard Jeff Teague has signed a four-year, $32 million offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Hawks have three days to match the offer sheet or Teague will rejoin his old Hawks coach, Larry Drew, in Milwaukee.

Kirilenko signs with the Nets for 2 years $6.3 mil. After opting out of with 1 year $10 mil on his contract with the Wolves

Safe to say Prokorov is a game changer. Also he is probably paying him under the table

Money wise, it's bad but it's a step closer to winning a Championship. And AK47 gets to reunite with Dwill. It's a solid move for the Nets. They're going to be a fun team to watch.

The NBA might be dropping the bant hammer on Brooklyn...

Mike Mazzeo: Confirmed via league source following the trade, #Nets payroll is around $101 million and projected luxury-tax bill at around $83 million Twitter @MazzESPN

The signing of Russian free agent Andrei Kirilenko – a $10 million-a-year player last season – for Brooklyn's $3.1 mini-midlevel exception has transformed rival owners and front office executives into an angry mob of disbelievers. The insinuations are unmistakable: Around the NBA, there are calls for the commissioner's office to investigate the possibilities of side deals and Russian rubles ruling the day – for now, unfounded charges based on circumstance and appearances. Yahoo! Sports

Once the Russian billionaire convinced a superb Russian player to take $7 million less to be a backup to Pierce, the rest of the NBA's reaction was instant and uproarious. For the first time now, the Nets have truly arrived as a contending franchise. They're good, with a chance to be great, and the rest of the NBA wants an investigation. Yahoo! Sports

"Brazen," one Western Conference GM told Yahoo! Sports. "Let's see if the league has any credibility," one NBA owner told Yahoo! Sports. "It's not about stopping it. It's about punishing them if they're doing it." Another Eastern Conference GM: "There should be a probe. How obvious is it?" Yahoo! Sports
