Horncats interested in Al Jefferson

I'm not going to lie, I'd be a little upset... It's one thing to show interest in someone... but then to bring in a player and pretend to sign him seems very shallow...

I just find it weird that they are "trying" now.

Yeah I definitely agree

What dont u understand. There's no guarantee to get those players. But we can actually sign Jefferson. We won't have to hope and wish and prey. We can just sign him. Unlike tanking and having the the third worst record but getting the sixth pick and a good player. Drives me crazy

Then you should probably disappear from watching Charlotte until after next year's draft, 25-27 wins is an easy Top 5 pick regardless of what others do, also the Raptors rejected the Pistons offer. One less tanking team to worry about. Also with the Celtics hiring the Butler coach they will not be tanking, there is always that off chance that even Al Jeff will not win us too many games to not lose our pick to Chicago but I am not willing to fast track the rebuild to be in the bottom of the lottery and lose our pick. Like the reports say this smells of MJ wanting to win now and Cho knowing the thing to do is to wait and sign a FA next year in the deeper class. God, I hope Cho wins out here.

You would think we would hear something around 8 p.m. or so.

Not necessarily, he will still need time to weigh his options, he would be dumb to jump and sign somewhere before he sees where Dwight lands and who is despearte.

I kinda feel the same but if that was the plan wouldn't you think theyd try throwing D12 name in instead of Al? I mean it'd be more appealing to the fans and a lot easier to get by it. I mean there's no way we would get Howard. I think this move is serious. Remember the rumor that we're ready to throw a huge offer at him too.

I'm not talking about if he is signing or not, I'm talking about how the meeting went overall...

When players/teams have meetings, you usually hear how they went.

Yeah.....

But Howard could have easily said that he wasn't interested in coming to CLT to even talk...

I also do not recall us being ready to offer Howard a contract.

There was a lot of speculation based on our coaching staff that we may offer Howard, but I never heard Chris Ford, Woj, etc... say that we were going to offer Howard a contract...

Do you have a link?

I was referring the contract offer to Al. That pretty much means there's more truth to this than lies.

And like you said, Howard could've easily said he wasn't interested. Exactly, the discussion would've been done and our fans would've said "at least they tried". It'd be that simple if that was what the FO was aiming for.

Good point, I am searching Al Jefferson on twitter every so often because I know Bonnell will be the last to know anything.
