Horncats interested in Al Jefferson

I'd would agree if only there were actually big name free agents next season. Monroe and Cousins are not even in the conversation. I'd take Al over Gortat (good center), Hawes, Bogut, Gasol, etc.

How are Cousins and Monroe not in the conversation? If you save up all the money from this year and all the money from this season you can sign any one of these players: Paul Pierce, Luol Deng, Dirk Nowitzki, Greg Monroe, Paul George, Danny Granger, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Zach Randolph, Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Larry Sanders, Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire, DeMarcus Cousins, Tim Duncan, Rudy Gay, John Wall...

I don't have our contracts in front of me so correct me if I am wrong BC I am doing this from memory.

But doesn't Gordon's contract expire next season at 12 million and isn't Thomas due @9 mill the following season?

So theoretically couldn't we use the money from Gordon's contract, amnesty Thomas' contract, and free up @21 mill if we wanted to sign another big time FA next offseason?

I think some are starting to catch on.  Charlotte will have around 20 mil to spend with the potential of 3 1st round picks.

I keep hearing people say we want to sign him to an extremely long contract, like 6-7 years. I'd probably die inside if that was true.

Those people are dumb.

First you can't offer a player more than 5yrs on a contract.

Second why would we sign him to a big contract for 6-7 years? He will be on the decline in year 3.

Monroe is a lock for Detriot. Cousins is heading to a big market (Lakers, Boston, Houston, Dallas). Out of those guys, the only one worth looking and a real possibility would be Paul George but too bad he's going to be a Pacer for a long time. And, don't even bring LBJ name up. In your argument, it's all a "what if".

Cousins and Monroe are RFA.  Highly likely they stick with their current team.

We are lucky a player like Al Jefferson is interested in playing in Charlotte.  I dont think some realize how sad this organization is looked upon around the league.  I look at that list and I say Danny Granger, Larry Sanders, or Rudy Gay would be the most likely guys to be interested in playing here.

Saying that, we still would have the money to sign a Rudy Gay next year.  Our FO seems to be high on him.

Kemba - MKG - Gay - Zeller - Jefferson <---Thats a helluva lineup

Build up a bench and Charlotte is not only on the map, but one of the top teams in the East.

You have no way of knowing that. We literally could have in upwards of $33 million dollars in cap space to sign a big 3....

I was dreaming that we would make these moves this offseason to free up space for 2 max deals.

With Ben Gordon it would have taken a sign & trade to get one of the max deals in...

Going to be interesting to see how Tyrus Thomas pans out next season.

Gimme a break, he's not interested in CLT; he's interested in morons (like people on this message board throwing 15m+ at him.

Also... why did you just stat a player that can't shoot... at "shooting" guard.

Maybe a Top 10 team in the east.
