Hornets A Possible Suitor For Mayo

Recommended Posts

I may just be one who likes the big name players, but IMO really Mayo is an instant upgrade over Hendo. I have always liked the man when he came out. Mayo may not bring the defense Hendo brings, but his offense is way above Hendo. I don't like looking at stats bc it can be deceiving. I like to look at guys when they're on the court and how they command the game.

I'm not sure Mayo would choose us over the other teams, but if he's willing to I'd take him in a heart beat over Hendo. Mayo would be a good long term answer at SG compared to Hendo, and he's a starting caliber player. Not like Hendo who's best suited as a 6th man.

The addition of Mayo would be a good fit if we lose out of Andrew Wiggins next year, and instead take Parker or Randle.

PG: Kemba Walker

SG: OJ Mayo

SF: Kidd-Gilchrist / Jeff Taylor

PF: Jabari Parker? / Julius Randle?

C : Cody Zeller / Biyombo

What's the possibility if resigning Hendo and adding Mayo if we amnesty TT or get rid of other guys (Ben Gordon)???

It would be interesting to see if we could do that deal with Boston for Humphries.. and then sign Henderson and Mayo...

PG: Kemba Walker, Ramon Sessions

SG: Gerald Henderson, O.J. Mayo, Seth Curry

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Jeff Taylor, Jeff  Adrien

PF: Cody Zeller, Kris Humphries, Josh McRoberts

C: Bismack Biyombo, Brendan Haywood

Unrealistic, but not an awful team.

I'd take Hendo over Mayo, because Henderson is the better all around player at this point. He is one of the better defensive guards in the NBA, has improved every year, and his stats are on par with Mayo. Plus Henderson should come at a much cheaper price tag, and he wants to be here.

I'd love to do the Humphries for Gordon deal. He'd be a terrific backup 4/5 for us. I definitely wouldn't start him over Zeller or Biz. Reason being, Zeller needs all the PT he can get, and Humphries is likely a 1 year rental. Same goes for Biz, but another thing is that Humphries doesn't protect the rim (neither does Zeller), but Biz is a good rim protector. In the NBA, good wing play, good defense, and good rim protection wins you championships.

    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
    • Justin Fields’ fifth-year option was declined by the Steelers in April. Without a new contract, he will be a free agent in March. I am pulling for Bryce Young to look good the rest of the season, but if he doesn't, how many of you would be on board for the Panthers to try signing Justin Fields?
