NFL Third Place Game?

Ok, I will no longer post in your thread.

In the future however, if you have an idea that you want the write down and not have any comments use a diary or journal(if you are not a teenage girl).

If you want to write an idea down an share with the world without comment, write a blog.

However if you putting an idea out on this board you are asking for other peoples opinion.  Don't be upset when you get them.

Dont post in my thread without reading the rest of the comments, its as simple as that. You and Rayzor have come in and just spewed dumb arbitrary comments without any supporting evidence, so you're gonna get called out. I atleast address most of what yall say, both of yall just come back by saying more dumb generalized poo... so if you want to offer your opinion, say more than just "no one will watch, no one will play, blah blah".

Wait how did this make it to 6 pages? I was only here for page 1, and I thought it was pretty much settled when I realized that 3 posters above me posted pretty much the same thing in a row.

I bet the chicks just dig that.

From what I can tell, your idea is not going very well for you. Too many holes in the theory. Contrary to your fotbol intellect. POFEFESSIONAL football players are conditioned to work to be the best. They would not want to play for third place.

Two sets of fans would watch this game. Fans of the two teams. And the ones that tune in because nothing else is on. Most sports fans played sports. They don't care about third place either. So the ratings would probably suck.

The incentives you speak of would not be enough to sway players into playing. You couldn't offer much more than Prow Bowl money, and I don't see Pros playing for that little in a meaningless game. Because offer enough to entice the guys to play could cheapen the Super Bowl.

Also, why would fans tune in for a glorified preseason game? Where the stars fans really want to see may not even play? Sounds like a sure fire ratings nightmare. I'm sure advertisers would line up for this. So I don't see enough money for the NFL, to make this feasible.

Sorry dude. Your idea won't fly. But hellz, I'll give you credit for the idea.

    • I have nothing against Mike Evans, it's that he keeps saying it's ridiculous for me to think T-Mac will be a better player than Evans, based on Evans totality of his career statistical output. They're not the same thing, at all.  Basically what he's arguing is that it would be insane for someone to say any RB coming into the league is going to be better than Frank Gore.  There are going to be LOTS of RBs over the years who are better than Gore but will never make the HOF.   Or how about comparing a QB to Rivers or Eli?  There are going to be a lot of QBs that you'd predict will be better, and for a period of time will be, but they won't be able to do it long enough to have the same career as those guys. Longevity of great play does not equal an elite player, it equals an elite career.  If you're building a team for one season, health aside and looking at peak performance, there are way too many WRs over the last decade that I'd take over Evans to consider him a true elite WR in my mind. For example, I looked it up, here is where he has finished every season ranked in Receptions and Yards 2014 - 36th in Rec and 19th in Yds 2015 - 30 and 11 2016 - 6 and 4 2017 - 23 and 15 2018 - 17 and 3 2019 - 36 and 13 2020 - 32 and 18 2021 - 28 and 22 2022 - 25 and 13 2023 - 24 and 9 2024 - 28 and 23 He's played 11 seasons, only twice finished higher than 23rd in receptions and 3 times in the Top 10 in yards, 5 of the 11 outside the Top 15. He had a great CAREER, but outside of 2016 and 2018, he really wasn't ever an elite WR outside of being an elite red zone threat.
    • I’m not sure what Mike Evans did to offend you but if we draft a WR at 8 that is Mike Evans I think everyone in Carolina would be ecstatic
