what's the incentive for being third place? a worst draft pick than 4th?

 

i don't see why it matters or how a team would benefit by being third. first is all that matters. the rest just didn't get the job done.

I think they should replace the Probowl with your idea. The game would have a little more meaning. Hey, it could work! You could also use this game for draft positioning....so it would have meaning in that aspect.

yea if you offer money to the teams and the 28th draft spot for the 3rd place finisher, there's plenty of incentive to play... and if youre concerned that players wont risk their bodys for meaningless games, ill refer you to the preseason.

The NCAA use to do this for the basketball final four.  It was pretty lame, and they ended it. 

 

IMO, the players would look at it the same way that they do at meaningless games at the end of the season, ie they would be thinking more about the offseason than about winning the game.
