2014 has always been MJ/Cho's plan IMO. These past few drafts were about finding some core guys/foundation pieces. Next year, we get a superstar and build with FA around him from there on out.

I know a lot of people think Stern/Silver won't give the Hornets a star...but if you're about conspiracies, they owe Jordan. They also would be smart to roll out a star player for the rebrand, especially in a basketball crazed area like NC. During the CBA negotiations, MJ was also rumored to be a hard-ass for the owners and big time backer of Stern...he owes us.

Lets hope you're right. If anything, Stern at least owes MJ a Top3 pick. That's pretty much all we need.

ok, First, MJ blew up the team to lighten his wallet.  Second, Stern doesnt owe anybody nothing and saying he will give charlotte the #1 pick is saying that the lottey is rigged.  we all say it is, but its not.  trying to suck to get a high pick in 2014, is dumb. Things change. What if the players you sought, stayed another year or sustained career inuries.  Now what, you threw away season after season for this?  Its not logical boys and girls.  NBA teams do not tank seasons to get a high pick.  Being smart with your trades etc and adding future picks is how you secure a better draft pick.  Tanking seasons will destroy your fan base.  The risk is too great for any team to do this intentionally in the NBA.

3 starters that aren't even old enough to buy liquor = give up on them already

I don't think anybody should be giving up on any of our young picks. We just need to see more consistency from our picks which I believe can happen. Kemba's improvement will continue now with the addition of Zeller.

MKG is the ultimate complementary piece. I think he will continue to improve and will be the 2nd pick we all expect.

Biz has all the potential to become the defensive man inside that we need. Based on his work ethic I don't see why he won't

Well, you can see who reads/believes national media. We blew up the team bc we were going nowhere. We were near luxury tax with a team that wouldn't be good enough to get out of the first round. If that is where you wish we would continue then that is on you.

I've actually enjoyed watching this rebuild. We have pieces that we have never had in CLT and are being smart with our decisions.

We are going to be too good next year for a top 4 pick based on wins/losses so for the first time in franchise history we are going to have to be lucky.

Philly? Boston? Charlotte the past two years?

A lot of people and history will disagree with you.  Teams tank all the time, and its usually pretty damn obvious.  Mysterious "injuries", sitting stars, yada yada.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  Boston tanked to try getting Tim Duncan years ago for instance.  They lost him to the Spurs. Memphis/Cleveland/everyone was tanking to get LeBron.  Saying teams don't tank, especially with high profile guys in a draft, you must not have been paying attention.

As already stated many times in numerous threads, we're not going to have to "tank" next year.  We're still going to be terrible, and even adding a couple of FA we probably will still be terrible.  It's a cycle that isn't broken in the NBA until you get a star to compete.  Since no FA superstar is coming to Charlotte (or any small market really), you have to get lucky in a draft. Sucks, but it's the way it is.  Buying a playoff team is easy. Winning/competing for championships takes a plan, time, and luck.  Such is life in the NBA for a small market team.

Good say.

It's pretty humorous seeing people act like its really just that easy to bring in big name free agents. There's only two way to build your franchise in the NBA. The small market/bad teams has to build through the drafts and the big market will attract the star players. No LBJ, Howard, Wade, Melo, etc will ever come here. Since the existence of the Bobcats, we only had three decent players we could somewhat called stars (only in this franchise). Wallace came on an expansion team and JRich and SJax both came through trades. We're going to have to keep tanking until we find our guys like an OKC, Indiana, or Memphis team. In the end, teams TANK in the NBA every single year, period.

I would say that the Cats actually tanked only the year they sat SJax. The past few years we have just been void of talent. Our team has always tried but they have just been bad. How do you tank when you suck?

For me tanking is when you sit guys on purpose or lose on purpose. Our main players have always played we have just been horrible.

That year set us on a track..

Kemba = Needs to play the game at this point..

Bismack = Needs to find that 100% exertion.. find the passion to take over a game with.

Zeller = Needs to come through on that jumpshot.. everything else is money in the bank..

MKG = Needs to work on basketball skills and watch tape... don't care what his stats are next year so long as he's in good standing with the team and takes his development seriously.  He is really good..

FAs.. = We obviously need a few players... but if we can put Hendo here we could see a team start to develop... they can't do anthing now.. but only a player or two away...

Hell Fugging Yeah!

This is the type of poo i'm talking about Bobcats fans. Believe motherfuggers believe we going to turn this poo franchise around.

IMO Kemba "Little Beast" Walker will be a allstar pg this year, yes he will be the 3rd pg on the allstar team behind Rose/Rondo.

MKG aka "Slim Jim" will be in the discussion for DPOY.

Cody "White Chocolate" Zeller  will shock the NBA world and win ROY.

Bobcats will make the playoffs this year. Book It!

I am not really worried about Kemba and MKG. I am on the fence about the 2 & 5 positions. Are Hendo and Biz the answers? That is really what I wanna focus on this year. I need to see if Hendo is just a 6th man or if he can be a consistent 18ppg - 20ppg scoring threat like he was near the end of the year.

I need to see Biz be consistent. He is the ultimate tease. When I am about to give up on him he pulls our a 10p, 13r and 4 bl game. I want to see him be a double double guy consistently. Or at least be a double  digit rebound guy. Oh and the biggest thing is to catch the ball on a regular basis.

these are my exact thoughts right here.  i haven't given up on biz yet.  he's yet to play alongside another legit big who compliments his game and hasn't had any really good coaching yet.  he know has ewing coaching him and zeller playing alongside him.  if he doesn't break out this year and go like 8/9/2 he's a bust.  then henderson i honestly think would be better as a sixth man.  he's really solid, arguably a top-10 SG in the league but he can't really space the floor.... i think the 2 and 5 are the positions we're still unsure on

I'm a die hard Bobcats/Hornets fan and love the direction this team is going and the potential we have created in the past few years.  With all due respect though, I hope we do NOT make the playoffs this coming year.

I'm not even sure that the talent level is there yet, but even if it is, with this roster we would be a yearly 7 or 8 Seed, or even worse finishing 9th in the east.

If we could suck one more year and grab a Parker or Wiggins, we could skip this stage and grow into a yearly 3, 4 seed or higher imho.

  A line up of:

Walker/Sessions

Wiggins or Parker/ Henderson

MKG/Taylor)

Zeller/ (free agent)

Bismack?/ (free agent)

and we could be set for years to come, we would take the nba by storm and out of no where.
