Hurricanes Interested In Signing Vincent Lecavalier or Danny Briere

Canes believed to be one of teams interested in Lecavalier. Could be out of price range but interest is there.

 

The Canes are believed to have interest in Vincent Lecavalier and Danny Briere, former All-Star forwards now available after having their contracts bought out -- Lecavalier by Tampa Bay, Briere by Philadelphia. Rutherford offered no comment on the two players.

 

If some how or some way, the Canes were able to sign Lecavalier; that would be huge.

Jiri Tlusty - Eric Staal - Alexander Semin

Jordan Staal - Vincent Lecavalier - Valeri Nichushkin

Jeff Skinner - Riley Nash - Tuomo Ruutu

 

Gives me absolute chills.

 

I also doubt they would pursue him if they end up selecting a forward in the draft.

That's why you put some bigger guys that like to hit on the line with him, give him some nitty gritty players for protection. Just throw him on the line with some bigger guys and say do your thing Skinner. No one cares if you hog the puck on the third line.

He's one of the top forwards in this years draft. He's been linked to Carolina a ton. He's probably got more potential then anyone else in this draft but is getting knocked down because of the Russian connection.

Yep, He played last season in the KHL at the age of 17. He's definitely got all the tools to come in and be a 1st or 2nd line player his first year in the NHL. Has the potential to come in and be an All star from year 1 as well.

I can't wait for the draft tomorrow. The top 5 prospects all have superstar potential, and they should all start in the NHL from day one.

Lecavalier has signed with Philly...

I guess they are going to try and do what we did last year... make the playoffs with no defense and no goalie.
