2014 NBA Draft Talk

Aside from Kobe and Duncan, you're pretty dumb if you dont think that CP3, Rose, Dwight, Harden, Parker, and Melo are franchise players.

I guess by that you also mean that only Brady and Manning are "franchise" qbs? Guys like Cam, Luck, Wilson, Ryan, Flacco, etc. are just "Pro Bowl" players right? You funny, but "YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE".

No i'm watch you call a hardcore basketball fan.

You are dumb if you think CP3/Melo/GHarden/Rose are franchise players, I give you Dwight because he led a subpar team to the Finals. But those other guys haven't did anything to be considered franchise players.

CP3/Melo has yet to lead their team past the 2nd round and you call them a franchise player LMAO!

You gotta win a championship as the main guy before I call you a franchise player or you have to be an amazing talent like Durant. So yeah I guess we just disagree on what a franchise player is.

You saying all those guys are franchise players, you are basically putting them in the same category as Lebron. I'm sorry but Lebron/Durant are just on another level than those other players.

A franchise player is one who can go out and win you games, take over games, when he's not playing chances are you're going to lose, and you build your whole team around him. Thats exactly what those guys I mentioned earlier are. New Orleans crumbled with the departure of CP3 and Chicago could've easily won two Championships if Rose didnt tear his ACL last year and is a pussy to come back this season. Now, you are dumb if you think CP3/Melo/Harden/Rose aren't franchise players.

Skill wise, I'm not going to put those guys along with LBJ or Durant. But, LBJ couldn't win a ring in Cleveland and even loss in his first Finals vs. the Mavs with Wade and Bosh playing by his side. Durant couldn't carry his team pass Memphis with the departure of Harden and injury to Westbrook. Now, you tell me why they're considered "franchise players" compared to the others.

I can't understand why there are some people wanting us to try for mediocre. Sign some mid level free agents and hope we get to the 8th seed in the playoffs??? All the while winning enough to stay at the back of the lottery. Now I  don't care for losing but that's the formula in the NBA. Big time FA won't sign here or any other small market. Only chance is to luck out in the draft for a star and build around them. Then you have to hope that player will resign and not bolt.

We will agree to disagree.

You have your opinion and I have mine.

Melo/CP3/Rose/Harden are allstars in my mind, like I said Lebron/Durant are once a generation type talents they will go down as top 10 players alltime when they are done playing, you cant say the same for those other guys.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
