Hornets / Bobcats draft Zeller

He's been exposed against stronger competition down low against college big men. All he's going to do now is get bullied by bigger stronger nba bodies. He tested well but that it. At best a nba backup.

I think people are saying this because of his game against Syracuse but he isn't going to face that 2-3 zone in the pros.  That defense is very tough on post players.

But he also destroyed Ohio State, Michigan,UNC, Illinois among others.  All those teams have size and athleticism.

Not to mention the teams he went against his Freshman year.

I will start out by saying this, I wanted McLemore. Hear he has many question marks about his friends and people he associates with.

I have no problem with Zeller, he is a safer pick then either Noel or Len. He has proven he can play for 2 yrs and shown his ability. He is very athletic, his vertical is the best "standing Vertical" 36 inches for a player 6'9" or taller in over a decade. Cho was the guy with this pick, its been reported that he loved Zeller and wanted to convince others in organization. So the pick isn't a surprise.

I hope Zeller can provide 17pts 10 reb. I believe he can. I can see at worst him being a career 8pt 8 reb guy and that I can live with.

Also, McLemore is not assertive enough to be the guy everyone thinks he will be. He's an athlete that relegates himself to being a jump shooter primarily. He disappears too often. And with guys like J.R. Smith out there, he's not needed.

I hope we trade back in and get Bullock or Hardaway Jr. to shore up the outside shooting.

We're not getting JR Smith, Millsap, Jefferson, or etc.

If we make a big move, we're looking at a guy like Kyle Korver.

First off, Bennet is a far more athletic 4 and Len is just as athletic/skilled of a center (who is both taller and has longer arms), so that moniker doesn't really hold weight.

Second the consensus among EVERYONE was their were 6 top guys. Therefore, we overdrafted.

McLemore was the best player on a veteran Kansas team who is very young and raw, and would at the minimum improve our horrendous 3 point shooting, and give us another player to groom alongside MKG.

This is why I would've went with Mac.  We need scoring bad.  Ben Mac helps with that immediately.

I see a lot optimism with this crowd. I just don't see this working out. I don't hate zeller and would love to have him at 8-10. Picking at 4 your looking at potential all stars.even if zeller maxes out his potential i don't see all-star ability. This was a train wreck pick.

Charmin soft lead the league in blocks.

Thank you for not berating me on that auto-correct courtesy of my iPod, lol... 'Charming-soft.'

But to your point, leading the league in blocks doesn't matter much if he can't contribute on offense and gets pushed out of position both offensively and defensively.

Why not, chuck?

JR Smith made 3 mil last year IIRC. Give him double that and we get him for 6 per. That isn't possible? I'm just saying, if we drafted Zeller, they have to have a plan for the 2/outside scoring in FA.

I'll tell you this, I don't know how I feel about bringing Hendo back now with the way things are looking.

I think a lot of Rich Cho. I feel he has a very good idea of how to build successful nba teams. I dont like the pick, but i trust Cho. Z might not be an all star, who knows, but guys like mkg and z compliment star players. 2014 is loaded with star players. This is why imstarting to love the pick. 7 footer who can score and really run the floor.

In Cho we trust! maybe?

Zeller will be the best "big man" outta of this draft. He's a 7 footer, but with short arms. The kid is offensively POLISHED. Can play the pick and roll with Kemba. He can also hedge pick and rolls on the defense. Zeller is an immediate impact player in this draft.
