Hornets / Bobcats draft Zeller

If Jordan tanks it this time around fans are going to bail. You only get so many do overs. It's obvious he doesn't know what the fug he is doing and being MJ is not going to carry a bottom feeder franchise forever.

More like if Jordan doesn't tank it, fans are going to bail. 99% of the Charlotte fanbase are looking at Andrew Wiggins and that 2014 Draft class already. If we land a top5 prospect in next year draft, Cho's plan worked well. It will be the last real draft we need to build this franchise through. After that, it's going to be bringing guys through Free Agency.

I start to like this pick better more by the minute.  He fits perfectly on this team, we needed a big who can score and Zeller can do just that in a variety of ways.  I think he was used incorrectly in college, or he was playing out of position at least.  Indiana was relying on him to be their big man who patrolled the paint .  They rarely gave him the opportunity to knock down shots from the outside and he only took two three pointers his entire college career.  That's not Zeller's game.  He showed in workouts he can be lethal from behind the arch and I think we think he will be.  How he was used at Indiana is NOT Zeller's game.  In reality he's a stretch four who can pop out and knock down J's.  Thinking about he and Kemba operating on the P & R gives me a rager.  He's 7'0" so he'll be taller than almost any PF that will be put on him.  If other teams elect to play their C on him you can leave Zeller away from the basket, then he'll have a huge speed and athleticism advantage on the center and can take it to the hoop for a bucket or a foul, or both.  He can run the floor like a deer.  We're gonna be deadly on fastbreaks, Kemba leading the charge with Zeller and MKG filling in the paint.  Scary.  His game compliments Biyombo's perfectly, Biz can stay home in the paint while Zeller will help us stretch the floor.  I was a little upset at first, but I think it was just because I was shocked.  I just knew it'd be Len, Noel or McLemore then when commish said Zeller I was like "WHAT?!".  But the more I read into it, it makes perfect sense.  His game on offense is clearly better and more polished than Len and Noel's and I don't think McLemore will ever be any better than Henderson.  Zeller wants to be here, you can just tell.  Yeah guys always have to say that, but you can tell it's genuine with him.  I truly believe this is where Zeller has wanted to be for awhile now. Also he's hilarious.  His tweets are amazing and his press conference today was just great. We gained another solid piece to our young core today.  I think if we can tank one more year it will pay dividends.  I'm not even planning on getting Wiggins or Parker but the draft is just loaded next year.  We can find our true franchise player.  I don't think we have him yet.  We don't necessarily need a LeBron or Durant, just a guy like Paul George. A true face to our franchise.  I really like what we're doing here.  Just think we could potentially have the 1, 9 and 13 picks next year.  The future is bright.

E: I really think he could win ROTY.  Him or Trey Burke are my favorites.  I think Zeller averages 14.7/6.9 next year.  That could bag him the award.

how about this from espn.com

CHARLOTTE BOBCATS | GRADE: C CHA.gif

Round 1: Cody Zeller (4)

Round 2: None

Analysis: We began hearing on Wednesday that the Bobcats were seriously considering Zeller at No. 4, although it was hard to believe they would take him -- and it would've been even more difficult to accept if we had known the Bobcats would be passing on Nerlens Noel and Ben McLemore to take Zeller.

I like Zeller's NBA potential, but this pick was a major reach. Zeller is athletic and was probably underrated, but he'll have to change his game dramatically to succeed in the NBA, and no one knows whether he'll pull it off. Shooting jumpers in workouts is one thing. In an NBA game, it's another.

The Bobcats have made some pretty bad picks during owner Michael Jordan's reign. I don't think Zeller will be a bust in the way that Adam Morrison and D.J. Augustin were. But I struggle to believe he'll have the career of Noel or McLemore. For the Bobcats' sake, I hope Zeller proves me wrong.

Let's go by dumb ass Chris Ford who is butt hurt about his love Child Noel dropping . I can't wait for this dude to bust out and Ford acts like he never said this poo.

I mean when you see draft scouts saying Noel is a no brainer top 3 guy in this draft...then proceed to say his offensive ceiling is a Tyson Chandler or he could be Greg Oden...um you lost me.

NBA draft guys are really confusing..it was nice to see Greg Anthony, who had Zellar in his top 5 speak glowingly about him. His argument is scouts got tired of seeing Zellar and the trend now is to fall in love with what you do not see in a guy.

He loves Zellar's face up shot potential, refined post game, Pick and roll defense...screen awareness and athletic ability. Made the statement how much development you could see in his game if he stayed in college for two more years and that he would probally have gone top 3 in last years draft.

"Couldn't find the full game when IU upset UK"

2012 NCAA Sweet 16: Indiana Hoosiers (4) vs. Kentucky Wildcats (1)

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 24 Pts, 10 Reb, 1 Ast

Cody Zeller 20 Pts, 7 Reb, 2 Ast

Just watched this for the first half, and wow.

I can see why Zeller was preseason #1.  He went toe to toe with Anthony Davis and more than held his own.  Had some very crafty post moves and worked extremely hard in the post on offense and defense.  I am really impressed with his post passing.  I can really see MKG/Kemba taking advantage of this.

I thought the Paul Gasol comparison was a really big reach initially, but he really has an amazing skill set.

I mean, he will really afford us some flexibility.  We can play big with him at the four, and if someone wants to play small, i.e. Miami with Bosh at the 5.  Then we can matchup then too. (obviously not equal talent).

This is still the same guy that was in this video.

Im excited.

I noticed his post passing as well in that video.

If we can get a center that has good hands, then Zeller and that center could form a very good high-low combo.

I like the pick. All of you haters whining that we didn't draft a passive, raw, inconsistent shooting guard that can't even create his own shot need to chill out. Like someone else said, if Zeller was black all of you would be saying how great of a pick it was, that's a fact. Zeller WILL be succesfull. He comes from a stable family with brothers in the NBA to help him transition well, on the other hand, Mclemore comes from a bad family situation where his brother is currently in Jail, Has maturity issues. In this years draft, I like that we went for the safer bet. Now we are set up to get a superstar in next years draft. I have a feeling this pick is going to work out for us
