Do you have outdoor AC units? I've had to repair both of mine last year. Blew at separate times, but both after electrical storms.

Symptom: Blowing hot air inside, outside the air from the fan was cool (this air is HOT under normal running)

Changed the CAP. Just typed in the PN and searched online. If you can live with it for a few days, you can get a $30 CAP and install yourself. It should only be 2 or 3 connections (write down how yours is connected before you take it out).

I've had it quoted a CAP change can cost $200-300 for the part+labor.

I actually bought a spare CAP couple months ago just in case. Houston is HOT.

Anybody who knows anything about the capacitor?

The repair man said it was broke, he charged me $169.

Could I have fixed the capacitor for cheaper?

Oh yeah they also charge $65 just to come out.

My total was $234 just for broken capacitor.

Fug!
