Focus T25

Yeah I am. I don't do t25 everyday. Just when I want to double up or when i don't have much time that day.

The lower body work was good. And the ab workout actually made me a little sore.

Hubby has started Insanity. He is three months past knee surgery. I want to workout with him so I'm gonna have to be doubling up to do T25 a few times a week.

Just wanted to check back with you two - Lomez and Cat...  How has it been going?

I didn't see your last post Lomez, but yeah man, I got it about 2 weeks ago IIRC from Amazon.  I finally pulled the plastic off of it last night, lol.

I've been doing Insanity and replacing the "cardio recovery" day with pick-up basketball at the gym.  Problem is, for the last two weeks or so, I ended up missing the Wednesday night workout and then usually Friday's as well and had to make them back up.  So, my schedule was so jacked up that I ended up having to catch up on all those days and so now, I finished the first month on Tuesday.  I took a day off Wednesday, and so, not wanting to start recovery week mid-week, I decided I needed to do something in the meantime...  And I wasn't looking forward to adding on any other 45+ minute workouts prior to recovery week when I know what is coming after it, lol...

So, I figured I would do a couple days of T25 to stay active on these days without Insanity until I start recovery week on Monday and move forward with month two.  I popped Cardio in last night to preview it, and I have to say, I have mixed feelings.  I didn't actually do it, but I will be doing it tomorrow.  I was really disappointed that there was absolutely no upper body-focused moves in this DVD.  With Insanity, there was always some variation of pushups or upper body work.  Please tell me there is enough to make up for it throughout a week of T25!  It honestly did not seem as intense as Insanity either...  The part I like about it so far from what I saw though was how it gets straight to the point...  No two-hour long warmup and stretch, lol...  Just straight to the work and you work all the way through for 25 minutes, then you're done!

I don't know, hopefully it has some strength building work in there throughout the week, but I was really disappointed that it wasn't present in every DVD apparently.  You think it makes a difference?  Seeing some of the testimonials, it's clear the program works just as good as Insanity, if not better, but I actually started to wonder if that was because these people were a LOT more strict diet-wise versus the actual exercise workload.

Diddy, sorry for the late response, my friend. I agree with you completely as far as the feelings after Day One with the Cardio workout. I got to the end and was like "Oh...that's it?" The other workouts do get tougher, though, and incorporate push-ups and upper body work. There is another workout that also just focuses on lower body work, too. As far as a full week of T25, you do feel like you've done a complete body workout, but like Cat says overall it is not as intense as Insanity. Also, the last day of the week has you combine two T25 workouts into one day, and they recommend you do them back-to-back. Week one included the Cardio workout for the double day, and all together it was like one Month 2 Insanity workout for me.

I've noticed, as the same suggests, it really does require you to FOCUS. I could get away with kinda dogging it for a minute with Insanity because I knew I had another cycle coming up or another 25 minutes left in the workout to make up for it. With T25, you really have to focus on pushing yourself as much as possible because of the small window in which to gain results. And yeah, I imagine dieting will be the key in ensuring success. So yeah, stick with it or wait until you have a full week completed, then take a look back and let me know how you felt about it.

In case you're interested, Shaun T is doing a Facebook promotion thing with T25 now. He's going to start the program today and wants people to do it with him and discuss/show results as they go along. I decided to do it and have started over with T25. I could use the extra work at this point, especially when it comes to perfecting the moves, which are mostly different from Insanity/Asylum.

Great to hear from you Lo!

Man, I actually did see Shaun T's challenge on FB as I follow him, but what sucks is I'm just starting month 2 of Insanity today, lol. I'm determined to finish it this time, but I really wish I could do this T25 challenge, so it kind of sucks...

I plan on starting T25 a week or so after I finish Insanity though, so maybe I can be in the infomercials still, lol.

Man, I'm dreading today though... It's the fit test Max intervals. On the brightside, I've lost almost 10 lbs. and I'm getting definition in my chest, abs, etc. and I lost about 2-3 inches off my waist. I put on a pair of my pants the other day that previously begged for mercy at my worst, and man, I had to keep pulling them up to keep them from falling off. So, I'm pushing through!

IDK, I've had samples of Shakeology. It taste fine. I actually was very hungry the days I took it but they say it's suppose to be very filling. I have a hard time throwing $130 a month at something that hasn't been properly scientifically tested, which it hasnt.

Yeah Cat, that's why I haven't messed with it. I buy Raw Meal from Whole Foods and from what I gather, it basically serves the same purpose... probiotics, mictonutrients, entirely derived from vegetables and/or fruits... difference is, Raw Meal is certified organic and non-gmo. When I tried to look up whether Shakeology was certified, beachbody's reply sounded a lot like a used car salesman - "we strive to put as many natural ingredients in our products as possible. We focus on getting the best ingredients possible, rather than charging you extra money because we put a fancy certification sticker on our label." Something like that, lol... It felt like they had Alex Rodriguez write up their FAQ responses. I was pretty disappointed in them for that.

So, did you guys complete T25?

I'm wondering because I think it's time for me to switch it up.

The key for me is staying engaged.  Back in October, I was a month and a half through Insanity again, and then I started that hellacious job.  I basically woke up at 2 am, drove, did manual labor for 15 hours one day, drove home, went to sleep for about 3 hours, drove, did manual labor for 12 hours, drove home, went to sleep, then I was f'ed up for like 3 days after that.  I had to quit it.  But, as a result of the screwed up hours from the job and the travel required, I ended up eating like crap again, and was completely exhausted when I got home.  I tried to maintain for that first two weeks or so, but I just couldn't keep going...

So, eventually, I fell completely off and got out of shape again.  So, I'm not in as bad of shape as I was before starting Insanity the last time, but I'm back out of shape.

Now, my issue is that once I reach the second month of Insanity, I know it gets much harder to maintain, even when i'm not working a job, mainly because I have 3 kids.  So, T25 is looking more and more appealing.  I'm thinking about doing that as my regular program to stay active because it's less demanding of time daily, and then supplementing that with an occasional Insanity session throughout the week when time permits for extra strenuous, challenging workouts.

I'm doing P90X 3 right now and adding T25 or insanity workouts in when I can. I liked T25. I never intended to do the program schedule. The only thing I didn't like was that my feet would cramp up on the speed 1.0 and 2.0 work out

Cat, and any other fellow Beachbody'ers, I was wondering...  Do you typically leave your DVDs in the factory packaging/boxes, or do you put them in your own storage sleeves?  I find it annoying to pull the DVDs out and put them back in the cardboard packaging they come in.  Just curious...
