For the fifth consecutive year I will be putting money down on the Panthers to win the Super Bowl.

 

...so you bet actual money on the Panthers to win the Super Bowl in 2010 when Fox was in lame duck status didn't get a flying f--k, JR cut just about every vet to save money in prep for the lockout and Hurney had just drafted Jimmy Clausen at QB?

Last year we were 35/1, and I think we are much better. We are also listed at 7 wins so ill be putting another $50-$100 on the over because fug that poo.

This is a rough guess, but I believe the past five-six years was something like this:

08 $100

09 $100 (thought Jakes meltdown was a fluke)

10 $ 25 (learned it was not a fluke)

11 $ 20 (wasn't sure about Cam)

12 $10 (wanted to bet more but got drunk and lost about $400 in black chips. Planned on using those to put $100+ down)

13 $50-100 (it'll most likely be $100 because I like the team we have this year. If I do well at the dice tables it'll be more)

my advice if you want to bet on the Panthers season would be find a place that'll give you over/under 6.5 wins and put it on that. Super Bowl with Rivera at the helm is too much of a longshot even though 60/1 is tempting.

but hey it's your money

I typically bring about $2K in drinking/gambling money on these trips. So $100 on the Panthers isn't too bad. I usually walk away from the dice table up substantially so it works out.

So is this basically a two-bet parlay for afc and nfc champions?

This was the bet i didnt make a few years ago when i was going to throw 150 because we werent on the list. They basically take the top 8 teams from each conference and you can pick from any of those potential combinations. The field "bottom 8 each conference" would still have the option to include a top team from one division but not both. I was going to lay 150 expecting us to be there. Turned out az made it and i woulda won at 75-1x 150 :(. With all the to per year its a good bet.
