If the 2014 draft really is like the 2003 draft that produced Lebron, Carmelo, Chris Bosh, and D-Wade. You'd be an idiot to not want the team to tank. The team is wanting a star player REALLY bad and their way to get one is sitting right in front of them.

A couple of rumors from Bleacher Report:

Minnesota is trying to package both of its first-round picks and Derrick Williams with its sights set on taking Victor Oladipo.

Thunder are seeking a move inside the top five by floating two firsts (No. 12 and No. 29) and veteran center Kendrick Perkins

If Oladipo is still there at 4, and Minnesota is really willing to trade, we have to pull the trigger.  Not as interested in the Kendrick Perkins trade as he has 2 years left on contract at around 18 million.

I posted this in another thread, but just in case no one sees it; I'm going to post it in this thread as well...

Sports Illustrated mentioned that OKC is desperate to get into the top five to take Alex Len and mentioned a possibly trade scenario...

So my question is would you take this trade...

Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: 4th Overall Pick

Charlotte BuzzCats Receive: 12th Overall Pick, 29th Overall Pick, 32nd Overall Pick, and Future First Round Pick From Dallas (Top 20 protected 2012-17)

I looke up a few mock drafts to see who they have valued at those particular picks...

DraftExpress: Kelly Olynyk, Tony Mitchell, Tony Snell

HoopsWorld: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Gorgui Dieng, Ricky Ledo

NBADraftNet: C.J. McCollum, Rudy Gobert, Livio Jean-Charles

Chad Ford (1 Round Only): Steven Adams, Ricky Ledo

Sports Illustrated (1 Round Only): Kelly Olynyk, Mike Muscala

CBS Sports (1 Round Only): Shabazz Muhammad, Archie Goodwin

CBS Sports (1 Round Only): Steven Adams, Ricky Ledo

USA Today (1 Round Only): C.J. McCollum, Gorgui Dieng

So taking all this into consideration, do you take that trade?

Not if the Minnesota deal is on the table.  Better picks and a young talent in Derrick Williams who still has an opportunity to prove himself in the league.
