Bennet: Dwarf Power Forward- ORLY?

For all the flack he has gotten for being under-sized to play the PF position at 6'8 -

let's take a look at some of the other PF around the league, shall we:

Anthony Bennet - 6'8 - 240 lbs

------------------------------

Derrick Williams - 6'8 - 241 lbs

Brandon Bass - 6'8 - 250 lbs

Paul Millsap - 6'8 - 253 lbs

------------------------------

Taj Gibson - 6'9 - 225 lbs

Kris Humphries - 6'9 - 235 lbs

Jeff Green - 6'9 - 235 lbs

David West - 6'9 - 250 lbs (allstar)

Zack Randolf - 6'9 - 260 lbs (allstar)

Carlos Boozer - 6'9 - 266 lbs (allstar)

now obviously there are a lot of 6'10/6'11 even 7'0 PFs in the league, but that doesn't negate that you can get production (even allstar production) from a "smaller" PF

I don't mind having a shorter PF in the right circumstance.  It just depends on the player and the talent around him.  Carmelo isn't really a 4, but plays it in New York.  Bennett can play the 4 fine I'm sure. Jabari Parker could play the 4 if we get him next year.  Barkley was a damn good 4 and a midget for the position.

Point being, if you can play, you can play.  Position/height be damned.

Yeah, I pretty much agree... If you're a good ball player, you'll find a place on a team regardless of height/weight etc.

who cares if hes a couple inches short, the guy is explosive and strong and knows how to get to the basket.  The bobcats need this.  Pair him with Al Jefferson and the horncats will be much improved. Anthony Mason and Larry Jonhson were only 6'7" and if you are an old school hornets fan you know how well they played here.

Bennett hsa a 7'1 wingspan, not bad.

Millsap has a 7'1.5

Boozer is like 7'2

al jefferson is 7'2'

Dennis Rodman was like 6'6-6'7 in his career and had about a 7ft wingspan I think, so that's food for though.  He was pretty good at rebounding.

Besides, timing is also a huge part of rebounding and even blocks.  Not all tall guys are good at blocking and rebounding.
