Len Will Be An NBA Bust

Recommended Posts

Maybe not a total bust, but I don't think he will ever be starter worthy.

Just hope and pray for McLemore. Noel should develop nicely at the next level too. Couldn't even be mad with Bennett or Oladipo. But no thanks to Len.

..thxs bizarro Nolan Norowoki..

But Noel should develop nicely..lol

That and I watched a lot of Maryland's games. He was useless for the majority of their games. I know college play doesn't translate to NBA play, but if you can't perform against a lot of NBA ready ACC players, then I don't like your chances in the NBA.

I watched a lot of Maryland games too and more often than not if he disappeared it was because for some reason his teammates and coaching staff seemed to forget he was in the game.

I don't see Len making an immediate impact, but he has the potential to be a very boring fundamental stretch 5 that you build a team around.

I hate to make the comparison because I know he isn't in the same ballpark, but he has the tools to be like Tim Duncan if he reached his max potential, but could also be a bust like Sean May if he is a softy.  I would assume he is going to land somewhere in-between.

So you have no basis for your post?

Great thread...

If you're going to make a claim like this at least provide some reasoning why.

By the way, reasoning doesn't include your opinion.

Wait...what? Opinions are exactly the reason why everyone's rankings are different. Just by picking which stats to look at and deciding how they will translate from college to the NBA, you are including your own opinions. If opinions weren't allowed then this time of year would be SIGNIFICANTLY less exciting because everyone would know who is going where. There is no science, no formula, that will tell you how good someone will be. For that reason, opinions are necessary to judge what stats and such are worth looking at.

Facts>Opinions

I could say Len has not post game (opinion)...

But then realize that 60% of his offense came from the post (fact)...

See the difference...

What about the fact that he played against 6'9", 210 pound Centers in college*? That could eliminate a good portion of that 60%. There is subjectivity even in stats when you consider how they will translate into the NBA.

Like I said, it's not as cut and dry as you are making it out to be. If it was, we would know exactly who was going where as soon as the draft lottery was set. That's the reason for the Combine, why scouts have jobs, and why ordinary fans spend so much time and money on watching highlights, watching TV, and reading mock drafts.

*Note: This is not my actual argument against Len, just an example.
