Yeah I don't see Yasinkas anywhere in that article.

At this point it's mostly one extreme or the other with fans stance on how our secondary will perform this year. I'm in the middle. I don't think it will be as bad as people think, but those homers here are going to be disappointed.

Us Homerz have our concerns as well. We just don't see the gloom and doom otherz do.

We see young kids getting better. Others see our young kids and automatically think we are doomed.

At this point in time, no one knows. If so, I would rather think positively. Makes my mind happy. And I can live with that.

There's a quite a few defenses with questionable secondaries but good Pass Rush that make the playoffs often

Giants, Colts, Patriots. Hell the 49ers secondary isn't full of superstars.

I'm more concerned about or WR core.

Our secondary is a concern because the players we have there are by and large unknown quantities. We have a lot of youth there that haven't had enough broadcasted snaps (basically meaning game snaps) for us to declare them terrible or terrific.

Our secondary could end up being very good or as doom and gloom as many think. But we simply don't have enough info to really know.

The only people who really know or think they know what we have is the coaching staff and the Godfather of Panthersmafia. We wont know as fans or media until September.

I said this another thread about our awful secondary. Our secondary from our Super Bowl run were a bunch of nobodies. If you have a killer front seven, your back four will look a lot better. If we pressure the qb with CJ and Kraken, but Star and KK and Dwan don't allow the qb to step up in the pocket, you will see far less deep throws over naka's head like last year. You'll see more throws that allow them to break in or across.

Secondary from the Superbowl run featured Mike Minter at safety, who we can all agree is better than Charles Godfrey will ever be.  Deon Grant was the other safety and didn't stick around, but he went on to start every single game for Jacksonville and Seattle between 2004-2009.  The corners might be a toss up between today's squad and the '03 squad, but I'd take the '03 secondary over the current one every time.

God I hate articles like this.  Feeds that damn pessimistic crew on here.

It sounds like this guy wrote this months ago and just threw it down because he had deadline and this is all he had.

Did he not read about OTA's or mini-camps.  I realize it is in shorts but a better gauge than throwing BS down like he did.

I promise you that it pains me to say this, and I really, really, really hate to be that guy, but nobody outside the Panthers fan base knows who Mike Minter is. He may have very well been the heart and soul of this team at one point, but he wasn't a world beater by any stretch of the imagination.

Never said he was a world beater.  Just said he's better than Charles Godfrey.

Just aggravates the poo out of me that writers don't do some sort of homework before writing an article. Our secondary isn't great (We really don't know how they'll look) but to pencil in Naka is a joke. We've heard absolutely nothing about Naka getting a shot at SS. The way I see it and have read, its already a 3 Way battle, between Campbell, Mitchell and Lester.

Guess I shouldn't rant. I'm used to fools not knowing what they're talkin about when it comes to the Panthers.

Okay, Mitchell may start but he wouldn't be any better in pass coverage. Run coverage? Definitely. I just don't see a set starter at safety. It will be a rotation.

I'd rather have Mitchell just fly around and lay lumber. If he can cover TE's we will be ok.

Refs don't allow guys to maul people like say a Ricky Manning Jr did in 2003.

Games are officiated differently now....the 2003 D wouldn't of been as good today. We roughed up the QB and pushed around the WRs....

Need real talent in the secondary based on the way the game is now officiated. If you don't....you see last seasons result. Best completion % allowed to opponents despite great pressure.
