6'4 as a power forward in the nba is laughable

That's his listed height.

That has nothing to do with his real height.

Most NBA players lie about their height.

Charles was a Wes Unseld Type.

He was 300lbs when he came into the league (and got down to about 260lbs at his lowest). So he took up a lot of space, but was still very explosive off his feet. Due to this, He could dunk on a 7 footer down low on one bounce.

He was a very unique player. It's no secret he was 6'4" 1/2, so I'm not sure why you're providing his bio stats. It just shows how unaware you are of it more than anything.

C'mon man get those damn "facts" outta here. Ain't nobody got time fo dat!

Who do you think you are lookin stuff up? Just accept what is said here as pure truth and be quiet about it would ya? Sheesh...

Really! "Facts" you say? What facts?

Charles said in his own autobiography himself that he was 6'4". What are you guys smoking?

So you want facts, links, references and quotes?......Okay.

During his college career, Barkley played the center position, despite being shorter than the average center. His height, officially listed as 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m), is stated as 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m) in his book, I May Be Wrong but I Doubt It.

From a NY Times article about NBA Height irregularities.

“They lie,” said Charles Barkley, a basketball commentator for TNT. “I’ve been measured at 6-5, 6-4 ¾. But I started in college at 6-6.”

Even the N.B.A. lies, apparently. According to Barkley’s biography onNBA.com, he is 6-6.

What Charles is saying here, is his height actually went backwards from college as he acknowledged his real, as opposed to listed height.

From NBA.com

As a player, Charles Barkley was perhaps the greatest anomaly in basketball history. Listed at 6-6 but actually closer to 6-4, he played power forward as well as anyone in the history of the NBA, often dominating players half a foot taller.

At 6'4" (1.93 m) was considered short for his position

A well known quote Charles Made (that you're apparently unaware of), re-posted on Celebrity Heights.com with references. Corrected here as well.

US Basketball Star. In 1997 he said, "I'm 6-4 3/4 [6ft 6] just sounded good coming out of college".. He also said "I claimed to be 6-6 when I played, but I'm only 6-4 1/2".

This was referencing Salon.com

A salon article said about him: "What's so startling about the numbers is another number: his height of 6-foot-4....In 10th grade, pudgy and merely 5-foot-10, he failed to make his high school varsity squad...A 6-inch growth spurt his senior year led to a scholarship". Another article on Sports Illustrated said: "It was in the run-up to the 1992 Olympics that the world finally learned what the cognoscenti had long suspected -- that Charles Barkley was more like 6-4 5/8 than 6-6, and Magic Johnson closer to 6-7 than 6-9"

6'4" 5/8 Would make Charles barely 6'4" 1/2

Answer:
Charles Barkley was listed at 6 feet 6 inches tall in the NBA, although he's stated many times before that his actual height is about 6'4¾".

This list goes on and on. Charles Barley's Height is/was no secret (except for some here). Should I

provide the Google results page listing the hundreds of responses quoting Charles and other trustworthy sources regarding his measured height at 6'4"? But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of an official story, right?

Maybe you should read the NY Times article I referenced earlier regarding how players and teams mis-represent height regularly. You appear to need the lesson and perspective (especially since you apparently like to butt into other peoples threads you have no knowledge of, and call them out). Geesh! SMH.

Here it is if you wanna educate yourself (not easy I know), and learn some more facts.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/22/sports/basketball/22score.html

Note: These sites didn't list Barkley at 6'4" just cause he said so. It's also due to known measurements of him (such as the Olympic trials with Coach Bob Knight), other NBA player observations; former teammates; Barkley standing next to other players that we know exactly how tall they are, and reputable fan and/or broadcaster observation. It's a combination, a preponderance of the evidence. Barkley, just provides the icing on top/acknowledgement we always knew. I for one, am usually a good judge of height and weight and always believed he wasn't 6'6". But who cares, really?

Even if Charles Barkely was 6'6", which he's not: It would still be remarkable for him to play NBA power forward at that height the way he did. Such the irony of your intrusive, non-sensical, non factual response to me. SMH

Class is dismissed now.

I've met The Rock personally and after seeing him at a Golds Gym (He was filming a movie in my town) I can most definitely say he's every bit of 6'4. Nice guy too...but I digress.

This video makes me kinda like Lebron a little more and it's also great to see one the the best of our generation give one of our own props. I can't wait to see Cam Newton show out and prove the haters wrong.

It has always been said that Barkley was listed at 6'6 or 6'7 but was actually closer to 6'5.

Edit: some others have already beat me too it

Now see? Was that so hard? Your point is made and found to be valid. Good job. Barkley is 6'4". It is settled.

You gotta remember that the camera is up behind Lebron peering downward.  That angle will somewhat exaggerate the size difference between the two.

Agreed.

I pointed this out earlier.

I remember when Cam was at a Hornets game and Wade and Lebron approached him (Camera was straight, at ground level), Cam looked noticeably, distractedly huge (particularly his arms). You couldn't miss him.

Wade and Lebron even mentioned they noticed this 'huge guy' in the crowd from the court.
