Mike Shula in the sky box?

Well how often do you hear about any QB coach? I expect that to change some during training camp.

Heard quite a bit about Shula and Cam's relationship the last couple of years. But yes, it's probably too early right now.

True, but Shula had a more extensive coaching background coming in versus Dorsey.

I like the Dorsey hire though. He's seen what Cam has first hand as a QB, and that is invaluable.

Traditionally they are in the box unless they are also the head coach. Watch a football game and notice that when they talk about the OC they show them in the sky box. This only became an issue here when people were looking for reasons to complain about Chud.

None. All teams have coaches in the box. Maybe not coordinators but there isn't a team without a coaching presence in the box.

I would have loved to see them hire an offensive consultant for the first years of Cams career. Put the consultant in the box and the OC on the field

Why? Which offensive coordinators coach from the field?

Josh McDaniels comes to mind. Then you got McCarthy and Kubiak who playcall as the HC.

The OC's choice may also change with the weather. No reason to stick around on the cold ass field in the middle December when there's a nice skybox available to them.

im pretty sure that McCarthy and Kubiak has a set of eyes upstairs in the booth. probably their OC who tells them what they see, and what match ups are better. i prefer the OC to be up there.

All offensive coordinators don't call the plays a lot coaches that call the plays are on the field. It's a good idea in my opinion with a young qb. There seemed to have been a disconnect with Cam and Chud. You could visually see Cam get frustrated with the manner in which the calls were coming in.

Look at Brees and Payton how good their offense flows with Payton on the sideline calling the plays.

I agree that someone should be up there just not the person in charge of play calling unless you have a veteran qb.
