Hey, dumbshit, it's not in any of our founding documents. Unless you're speaking of the "Declaration of Independence", in which case it only further proves your idiocy as it's not a "founding" document, much less a legal document of any sort.

Seriously, though. Look at the comment section on any article/youtube video. Homophobia is far from dead. No one will cop to it these days without the shield of internet anonymity or buffered by a large crowd, but plenty of people are not cool with it.

 

 

I think comment sections and youtube video comments are a pretty bad place to gauge how people truly feel about something. We think the anonymity allows people to let out their true feelings but all it does is breed general mean spiritedness and fanatics combine that with the hyperbole we love to use and you get people saying whatever gets a rise out of one another. It’s independent of their actual feelings towards something. They just want to get in your head.

The whole difference in opinion about this is that people like me who don't judge others for their sexual preferences will have no problem with this. There are others, however, that couldn't understand that because they have no vision. They will not support it, morph it into their own little belief system and continue to rant about how the league is becoming soft "gays acceptable and no head-to-head contact huh?". They'll be sure to include this in their psychological dissertation about the "pussification of America" and no one will convince them otherwise. The only thing you can do is make progressive thinking such as this gain traction by disseminating this school of thought as a positive one with each subsequent generation so that the ignorant ones are eventually phased out.

I'm not sure I agree with this analogy. There is no similarity. The story behind Jackie Robinson is that of Africans being enslaved, raped, and lynched(murdered). Act of genocide is NOT similar to someone who wants to describe to the public what they do in their own privacy. Appreciate your intent but let's not be careless here. I'd take being a closet homosexual any day over enslavement, raping, and lynching. Let's not minimize what those people went through just 400 years ago which still affect their community till today. If you can't apply it in the proper context just leave it out of the topic. If all Africans like Robinson were worrying about was being found to be black then what are those black people complaining about.
