Microsoft reverses stance on XboxOne

Kinect is a deal breaker, because a lot of people, like me, don't want it, don't care for it, don't need it.  I really can't stress this enough...I don't want a Kinect, I will not use the Kinect, I don't like having to pay for a Kinect.

 

 

But the point is, you would use it because it will be built into most games.  

 

I get saying you wouldn't want to play "Wii type Kinect games" but the thing will bring a new aspect to gaming if used right.

 

My guess is if the Kinect wasn't included you would still have a reason to hate on Xbox.

Downloading games is a great idea...unfortunately a lot of people in the world don't have high speed internet.  Hell even in the States some people don't.  I know it's not even offered in my area (no cable, no DSL).  I have to use Verizon Homefusion and that has a 30 GB/month cap (well actually that's the top tier plan and I pay extra for that). The 30 GB plan is the most they offer right now.  Most games are anywhere between 1 GB and 5 GB.  Next gen games will be even more.

 

True, and I assume thats why Sony and MS decided to stick with discs for another generation.  But times are changing and as online services expand people are going to start demanding more bandwidth. 

 

This is like when Netflix announced they were separating their physical discs from their streaming stuff- people were upset at the prospect of paying more.  Then everyone realized that they only streamed shows and movies anyway and nobody cared anymore

They don't care, they're going to shove it down your throat anyway.  I've already seen articles about how xbox users need to embrace it as the 'future of gaming'.  MS has an army of people going on social media propping up whatever they want.  

 

These console wars amuse me.  I just sit back and laugh while playing my $10 copy of minecraft that gets constantly updated.

I'm always going to prefer to have physical copies of things. I've bought things during Xbox Live sales and it's nice to have several games on my hard drive ready to play at any time but I still prefer having actual disks. 

 

 

Plus the entire PC gamers acting like they're superior to everyone else is incredibly annoying.

They said the same thing about the original kinect, and it sits on most peoples shelves collecting dust.  Motion gaming just isn't that great unless you're a kid.  Sorry, doesn't matter how they attempt to incorporate it into a game, I'm still going to face the thing at my wall (since it has to be plugged in at all times to use the console), and game with my controller....

Stop the Steam nonsense, it's clearly a better deal than any console will ever offer.  Just wait till the summer sale and see how many great titles you can get for MUCH cheaper than the console version.

Your guess is wrong.  Anybody on here knows I game on Xbox and have since the first Xbox.  I bought and stuck with Xbox because I liked what it offered versus the playstation.  Now the situation is getting reversed and I'm seeing Playstation as the better deal for me.  I'm not going to stick with a company if they aren't meeting what I want or need...that would make me a fanboi.

Guess I just don't understand why a Kinect would make you not want the Xbox.  I think Xbox has the better games and the better ceiling (in regards to cloud gaming and technology).  I'm willing to pay $100 more for it.  Granted, I'm not buying any console for at least 6 months until I see how the bugs are getting fixed and by then prices may be lowered.

 

PS4 looks nice too but I think the Xbox is bringing a lot more to the table.

I'm not sure how people can say the Xbox has better games, and I own a 360, Wii, PS3 and WiiU, and will be adding a One and a PS4.  Maybe if you like shooters sure the Xbox is better, but the only must haves that aren't shooters on the Xbox are Forza and Fable.  Compare that to God of War, Infamous, Uncharted (or any game that Naughty Dog makes for that matter), Team ICO stuff, MLB The Show, Gran Turismo and a horde of others and it's really a no brainer of which console has a better variety, and better quality exclusives....
