Ice Cube and the Roots make Hip Hop magic

Last night Ice Cube on Jimmy Fallon and performed a classic with the Roots, and it was brilliant

I love how the Roots managed to mix in the original Isley Brothers song with Cube's (which is just a sample).

Man, I love me some Cube but listen to Parliament's "Motor Booty Affair" and half of Cube's first two records are samples from that album. Imitation is the highest form of flattery and all but those are straight ripoffs.

The same can be said about Dr.Dre's The Chronic. Although Snoop's Doggystyle used a live band, lots of the beats were Funkadelic's.... I had no idea until I worked a Parliament concert & knew more of the songs that I knew I did... Great post regardless, the Roots throw down....
