My morning...

Murph

Recommended Posts

1) Wake up to no hot water

2) Go to basement and find hot water heater spewing from every pipe and seam. It is shot

3) Turn off water to heater & at switchboard. Too early to call a plumber.

4) Inform wife of situation when she walks in from her morning run.

5) Call plumber, he can come later today but unlikely to completely get us up and running again until tomorrow. He is good guy and a friend so we decide to wait.

6) The icing on the cake to my morning: To make light of the situation I tell my wife to put on her scrubs & give me a sponge bath. After a few seconds of a blank stare she walks off telling me that it is good there is no hot water because I need a cold shower. Oh and she also informs me that our bank account is low right now because she just bought her and each of the girls several new swimsuits from one those catalogs she gets in the mail everyday so I will have to pay for the repairs out of my office account.

In all seriousness Murph, I feel your pain. This morning I walked outside and took two steps out the back door and saw this debacle to start my day. A freaking leaf in the pool !!!!!!!  Spent most of the morning searching the web for someone to come fix the problem for me. I know, I know...it's terrible. Trying not to let it ruin my day but it's not easy. Thoughts and prayers appreciated.

I had a low tire pressure tire indicator come on during my commute this morning so I stopped to put air in the tire.  There was one I had plugged in the past, and I figured it was the culprit.

I deposited my 4 quarters in the air machine and the sonofabitch didn't come on. I had to go inside and get a crispy dollar bill refund.

The tire had like 30 lbs, so I said I'd just continue on to work and use our compressor there.

Sure enough, it was the same tire and the plug had failed. Had to spend like 10 minutes of my valuable time replugging it in our air conditioned loading dock. I almost even broke a sweat and I didn't even have to take the tire off to plug it.

Can you not replace the water heater?

Pretty easy job honestly.

And speaking of bad days, I just found out I am getting a new partner at work.....so on top of all the BS that we have to do on a daily basis, now I get to train a newbie.

Johnny Rocks just reminded me I gots to get my pool cleaned up before little kiddos come swim on Friday...I almost forgots! That would have been bad.

Not to hijack Murph's thread but Cat do you have one of those Polaris or Shark automatic cleaners for the pool? They are expensive but the best investment / invention for a pool ever. Hit a switch and the pool is any dirt is gone in minutes. Also, my GF converted her pool to saltwater this year. Throw in a couple of bags of salt in the beginning of the year and it's maintanence free for the rest of the year. Total cost is under $20 a year and there it is always crystal clear and so much better for the skin.
