Jeff King good hands?!?!? lol that has to be the craziest thing I've seen in awhile. About as crazy as Mexico legalizing heroin. King dropped soo many passes this past year, and is also a fairly slow runner in and out of routes.

Really? When did all these drops occur, because I can only remember 1 in the Bears game.

BTW, how many catches can we really expect all three TE's to get when the Panthers are only gonna throw the ball about 20-25 times a game anyway? We are not the Saints, where every eligible receiver is gonna get chances in every single game. Plus, as long as the Panthers keep Lloyd activated just to kick off, then somebody, usually a WR or TE, is gonna get left out every week.

Lombardi had a pretty decent article about that during the season. He said the Cats were mainly a big play type of offense both running and passing. I'll see if I can find it and link it.

Wasn't an article, just a short blurb.

still a great read and exactly why i think we will have a big year this year. in spite of what happened that last game we have one of the most dangerous offenses in the league and it only got better with one year under our belts and the addition of mike goodson and the hopeful emergence of gary barnidge and dwayne jarrett. add in the influence of rip on jake and usage of all the good receiving options at TE. our return game is going to be fast and lethal. same with the defense. the more i think about it, we may now have the defense to properly compliment our offense.

i am feeling good about this year. 10-6? yeah, we can do it.

I would guess King. Carr loved him some King in prevent D time because Carr was THE "king" of low risk passes.

And as far as hands (the Chi thing was the DB or whoever actually TAKING THE BALL AWAY from King which was called an INT, it wasn't that King had bad hands), King has demonstrated the best hands of any TE on the team to date IMO. Will that always be the case? Maybe not.

yeah, it was king.

he is not a big play type of guy but he has shown to be more than reliable when called on. he's security. i think barnidge and rosario are more big play type guys but king is going to be better as a safety valve.

Yeah, Carr completed a bunch of "garbage time" 4th quarter passes to King. I wish I didn't remember that.

Really though, the only way King will get that many catches again, is if we're either behind all the time, or Rosario and Barnidge don't continue to progress the way they should. Both of those guys still have a lot to prove before anybody can call them studs, that's for sure.

"Panthers have been paying into the Tight End kitty for a while but so far not getting the performance I have been anticipating in the passing game. Running game has been rocking as we all know in part due to superior tight end blocking

Jeff King, great blocking back with good hands, got a big contract.

Dante Rosario started last season off with a bang with that game winning catch in San Diego and he had a great game overall as Steve Smith was suspended.

Gary Barnidge has many people excited about his potential . . . 6'5" speedy guy who can stretch the field as well as a good blocker"

If Jake doesn't eye them, how can they reach any potential they may have? We used to use Walls quite well. I'd love to see more drives sustained by throwing short to our TEs, but that doesn't appear to be in our system at present. It would be nice though..

Are you looking for an argument or feel a need to make the same the old tired statements to see who bites. Welcome to 2009.

JMO He was hit or miss all season long. I remember him overthrowing Smith on several occasions. He has a arm now all he needs is some touch to go with it. The fact is when Delhomme is on we get SD when he is off we get AZ and I hope his QB coach can get him out of the habbit of having AZ games like he always has had. You take the good with the bad but you still hope for more if you know what I mean.

Understood but why? Jefff King was considered a fairly decent tight end at this school, suddenly he's bullshit, why? Because the Hokies mainly used him in the red zone to get touchdowns and we don't, we try to use him in the middle of the field, what's wrong with this picture?
