Just Saw Man of Steel

I thought it was great, I expected the violence and serious tone coming in and was not disappointed. Though I can see how some may not much enjoy it. There is virtually no humor in the entire film. Didn't bother me though.

It was far from perfect, but there were times where all I was thinking is "this is f'ing awesome". Excited to see where they will go from here.

well I can give you a hint at where it goes... zod left his armor at a lexcorp site.

Can't believe an adult actually used Dragonball Z to describe something.  My kids stopped watching that poo when they were like 10 years old.

DragonBall Z has been around long enough that it's not just a show that only kids have watched it, DBZ has been around since 1989 yeah, that's 24 years and DBZ is not just kids references now.

and the satelite zod and sups crashed into had the "Wayne Enterprises" logo on it...

i heard about that but I didn't see it in the movie. after an early "smallville" tv show reference, i started looking at things in the back ground. i left thinking the sequel will deal with lex luthor and possibly brainiac

Saw it last night with my 17 y.o.  It was good, not great.

A lot more sci fi than previous versions of Superman, so I liked that.

They drug it out a tad towards the end...   I think they were aiming for "most epic fight scene ever" territory.

Didn't top Avengers imo... and still not the best movie of 2013 for me, that goes to Star Trek: Into Darkness.

fwiw I thought Amy Adams nailed Lois Lane and the Zod actor fit well too.  Cavil as Superman is good.  He does remind me of Keuchly in the face with the glasses on... but who he really looks like to me is boos bf.

I thought the beginning was really boring, like I almost nodded off type boring. It got better towards the end when I was able to laugh at all the people hiding behind cars while the city was being torn apart and how Louise Lane was able to show up where ever Superman was, particularly at Grand Central Station.

Pretty terrible movie imo and that was with me going into it with low expectations because I don't care for Superman.

While watching the beginning, I thought it was boring. But as soon as the movie was on earth, I realized that I would pay good money to go see a prequel about Krypton.

Its obvious with the pacing that much was cut from Krypton - I would love to see what didn't make the final film.

You can't go into a comic book movie expecting Dark Knight trilogy, since I don't even think of those movies as that, they are in a world of their own.  Plus, superman has always been a really campy character and comes off as cheesy, there's only so much you can do.

I also LOL'd at Louis finding Clark that quick as if Metropolis (NY in our time) is that small lol.

Well you've gotta suspend disbelief, it's a movie about a superhero wtf. You have no problem buying into the idea of Superman, Krypton, etc. Yet Louis casually finding him in Metropolis is just outside your comprehension lol?

This is why I don't even bother to read critic reviews anymore.

All the comparisons to the Dark Knight... have you guys ever really LISTENED to the dialog? What makes TDK so good is the pacing and the build-up. Without those elements, the plots are pretty bad. In the end, its about a guy richer than God who says corny things like "SWEAR TO ME!!!"

Besides, Batman Begins was easily the weakest movie of the trilogy. Who's to say the first MOS won't be the weakest? As far as logic, heck a man as paranoid as Bruce Wayne didn't do background checks on Selina Kyle or Miranda Tate before they were hired?
