Andrew Luck the 23rd ranked player in the nfl?

What makes Luck special? Is it his accuracy, arm strength, or mobility or is it all of which. In the modern day game to be considered special you have to have all. The media keep using that word 'special' when they describe Luck but they never elaborate what that 'special' is. I can't let you get away with it without an explanation. What is special about Luck? And, yes, we've all heard 'all he does is win' stuff before.

I always heard ppl say he was special because he was NFL ready. Basically, he didn't need a lot of work to make that transition from college to the pros. Suppose to be rare.

But it doesnt matter he won the 11. If he only won 5, it would hav been because of his team. Infact, they say the Colts made the playoffs "despite the horrible team he had around him."

Oh, they didn't rank Griffin yet?

Yeah, that will be even funnier, indeed. Lol

One good thing about Griffin is for the passes they ask him to make he made them accurately. Whether it's 50 yards bombs or dink & dunks. Plus, I have to respect any QB who can rack up 850 yards on the ground when our RBs couldn't even do that. That dude was hard to defend last year and the Giants defense attested to that.

I think the media's mind at that time was still stuck in those days where QBs would sit 2-3 years to learn the offense or for the organization to keep tanking game so they can build the offense around them. That's old time. Now 1st round QBs are expected to start on the 1st week(thank you, Cam). Being just a pro-ready QB is not enough these days. Luck is gonna find that out the hard way. I follow college football too a lot. The QB landscape is changing so fast.

Luck had the most prototypical QB play of all the rookies, pure pocket passer, led his team, won games, got to the playoffs, all with a team that had the #1 pick in the draft. He delivered on being the #1 pick.

I think he definitely should be ranked higher than Cam.

The weirdest thing though was Jimmy Graham not being on the list. I hate the saints and all, but that didn't make any sense.

I swear the Huddle has more RG3 and Andrew Luck threads than the Redskins and Colts boards. Want to create a thread that is guaranteed to go 10 pages long? Just add Andrew Luck or RG3 in the title. Everyone complains about the media's obsession with the two of them yet the obsession with them on here is much worse.

might that in turn be media driven. . thats my assumption. I despise the topic and think its nonsense, its like on auto eject in mind when I here it come on anywhere.

" Ahh and how about the Andrew Luu. " - NOPE, EJECT!

"but that RGeee" NOOOoOPE!. . EJECT!

...endless bickering about trivial nonsense.

That would actually make an excellent subtitle for the board in general.

As to all the butthurt and pissoffedness over an arbitrary, meaningless ranking that the NFL only does to give people something to talk about in the offseason...

Lets just meet in the middle... He is one of the top QBs and delivered. Is he perfect? Nope but to deny his talent is just childish.

To say Luck is good does not implicate Cameron Newton. We live in the world in overvaluaing wins and giving the QB exclusive support/blame.

Jimmy Graham was not in the top 100 to validate the rankings for everyone. He is a top 30 player IMO.

Bucky Brooks had an interesting concern about Luck.

"Now, I must express some concern about Luck's declining play over the final month of the season. While the Colts won four of their final five regular-season games, the rookie standout failed to record a completion percentage greater than 50 in any of those contests. Additionally, he surpassed 200 passing yards just twice in that span. Although numbers only reveal a small part of the equation, the fact that Luck didn't perform at his best down the stretch deserves mention."

This appears like Brooks sly way of pointing out, 'that Luck wasn't nearly as impressive down the stretch as many think he was/getting credit for. Therefore it can be argued his team/defense/coaching pulled out those games down the stretch more than Luck did'.

Of course, Brooks is a former NFL scout and knows these things. And it can be argued, now that he's in the media, he just can't come out and rip Luck (or at least analyze him too fairly). So instead, these are the trail of bread crumbs he threw out there for us to follow.

It'll be interesting to see how the Colts will do this year, when they had so much improbable good fortune the previous one?

It could be ugly.

but it was an inspired squad that refused to die after what transpired with their head coach. Let's see if Luck and The Colts can repeat what they did in 2012. At this time, I think they're pretenders.

If inspiration wins 11 games, I'll take it.  Inspiration is pretty hard to keep for that long in the pros.

Sure wish the Panthers could be 'inspired'....for just 3 games in a row would be a start.
