Ladies and gentlemen, I rest my case.

I'd be ecstatic if he had 1,000 yards. I'd be happy with 500. Doubt either will happen. I maybe disgruntled because I am still frustrated with the fact he was basically the 33rd pick. I hope he does really well because Cam and our offense need a WR to step up. Chances are it won't be him though because he is just not cut out to be in the NFL.

The quarterback is often one of your best athletes both physically and mentally. All reports are that Edwards was very athletic in college.  There is no reason he believe that he doesn't have the skills to be a receiver. In Year 1 he admitted he wasn't even in good enough shape to be a receiver given all the running they do on every play.  Everyone knows it takes a few years for even great college receivers to turn into good NFL receivers.  If it took him a year or two more to make up all that ground, it is understandable.  WR is one of the more difficult positions to learn in the NFL.  I prefer to think that Proehl is really helping him reach his potential.  I hope we can both be happy about him when all things are said and done this year.

I don't think there are even a handful of people here who actually think Armanti is going to play QB.

Besides App State fans of course, and they don't count.

Majority of App St fan, myself included, know AE isn't an NFL QB. there is a small, and i mean small, % that does and they're delusional. stop trying to lump us all together

My problem with Armanti is this

4 Questions

1. How do you not score on this play?

2. Wasn't he suppose to be fast at least??

3. If he isn't fast then where was the agility and juking to beat the last defender?? Why did he go down so easily??

4. So he's not big, fast, or can make people miss in the open field. What is his upside and value for this team??

That was more of a joke in regards to some posters we've had visiting here in the past. I'm sorry to say that it is more than just a small percentage that think that way though, and it's certainly not limited to just these boards.

With as little in game opportunities that he has gotten here it's a little unfair to be so picky. He made plays.

Again their is a reason for that. It's not like we haven't needed WR's to step up.

And Again if you haven't played a lot you should have enough energy to beat a guy who is coming a cross the field.

Also where was the juking and agility he was suppose to be drafted for?

1. The safety had the angle and cut him off

2. Elusive, shifty, and quick change of direction. Not necessarily take-the-top-off-the-defender speed

3. Not sure about this, he was houdini in college and beasted DB's

4. What is the upside and value to Ginn, Pilares, Adams, Gettis, (maybe even throw in Hixon)?

At the end of day it doesn't matter. He made a huge play in the 4th that busted the game open. Hate him or love him he has the respect of his colleagues and attention of the coaches.

You are making legitimate points. That said..

Keep perspective though. He's a QB to WR convert who's seen little to no playing time at the position here since he was drafted. I don't care who the player is, they all need some continuity and snaps to build confidence.

This is his make or break year, and he knows it. I want to see him given more reps to prove himself.

The guy had a good angle on him.Gettis, Ginn, even prime Smith may not have even scored on that play. Lighten up. He made a clutch grab which is a start. If he makes a cut on that play then that just buys more time for Redskins defenders to catch him. He got as far down field as he good which was the best move.

Like some have said in this thread. I'll believe this when I see him do thing against guy who aren't his teammates.

I've been fooled before with the practice all star performances. How many years did we here this same poo about D Jarret?

Please don't kill your credibility like that by comparing him to Dwayne Jarrett.

This has to stop being a excuse.

Randel El was doing the same transition and put up numbers his 1st year in the league.

Last year should have been make or break. I just don't see his value other then he works real hard and guys like him.

Sounds like Rudy to me.

I say it again because you obviously haven't been a panther fan for long.

But we heard the same poo year after year after year about Jarret. How he was making plays all over the field during practice and how this would be the year he breaks out.

The funny part is Jarret had more production then Armanti in the same time frame.
