do any of yall watch basketball wives? because it was obvious that 85 didnt. i do not not watch bs like that, but i do know she(his ex wife) was the biggest poo stirring on that show. and she probably pushed him into head butting her, but the guy is a silly dude. i think the judge used her power to prove a point that she runs that courtroom.

The Judge throwing a guy in jail for being lighthearted-inapproiate in a formal courtroom seems insane and an abuse of power...but there are formalities when you freedom is at peril...no sense of humor in this situation at all...and a hard lesson to learn.

It isn't like the judge was making up laws to throw him in jail.  He violated his parole.  If he doesn't think head butting his wife while he is on parole is serious, then jail seems reasonable to me.  I'm guessing this judge would do this to anyone clowning around in a courtroom when they are brought before here on a parole violation.

Actually he was in court for violating his probation. The probation stemed fron the head butting . Most likely he didn't do his community service, anger management or something. The judge extended the period to complete the task and gave him no jail time. THEN he slapped his lawyers ass because the got off with no time. So the judge got pissed over his courtroom behavior and gave him some jail time. Pure stupidity on Chads part. Wait til you're out of the courtroom, then celebrate.

This is what one calls an abuse of power. It's sad that we're supposed to have some great system for justice where no one is treated unfairly but a guy gets thrown in jail because he "disrespected" someone. fug that bitch.

I'm sort of surprised at how many people don't realize how serious it is to make a mockery of the judge in a courtroom.

For the most part I don’t think people are questioning how serious a courtroom is. We all know that. I think what people are questioning is the judges reaction to C.Johnsons action. Like I’ve said I think we can all admit Johnson was in the wrong but plenty of more well informed talking heads in the media have made light of the fact that it wasn’t necessarily Johnson’s slap that got him in trouble as much as it was the crowds and even the bailiff’s reaction to the slap.  Not making excuses for what he did because he is a knucklehead I’m just calling the judges reaction hasty.

this.

for the people claiming abuse of power...in a courtroom, the judge is the power. judges don't just uphold the law, they also help shape and create them.
