serious question: can microsoft change their 'always online' and 'no sharing games policy'- or is the infrastructure already in place such that this is no longer feasible- I honestly don't know how that works

they have to realize by now they screwed up big time

I really don't feel like any of that is going to stick. MS isn't going to make the Xbox1 just for it purposely suck. I may still go with xbox down the road because their projection room/screen thing is pretty amazing.

not really live has been that way for 10 years, Sony doing what ms did 10 years later isn't that big of a deal

Live does have the dedicated servers going on.  Sony hasn't announced having that as well. I like the plus because of the free games and deals which is why I already have it.

That part sucks. I am a plus member but it still sucks.

Same here. I think it was the part about at least having the option. I don't really even play as much online as I used to.

If they do keep the current prices and amount of free content (they have been doing 1 ps3 game and 2-3 downloadable games a month) it will still be a good value. Still, it's always been nice having that option.

Wow so apparently Killer Instinct is free to download with one character, but relies on micro transactions to get the other characters/arenas to gamers.  fuging M$ always trying to make more....just give gamers a complete game that doesn't look like vomit on a screen and charge the normal 59.99 for it....

Same pricing as it is right now. 50.00 for the whole year. By being a PSN plus member you get DriveClub right off the bat plus 1 game each month to start out with. The other 3 announced games were PSN games Dark Poncho, outlast, and Don't Starve. (That's all that's been announced so far)  Sony did mention during the press conference that PS plus would be required for online play. It's just everyone was super stoked about the no used game or online check in thing to notice it. lol

Still a fantastic value considering you're getting DriveClub for free and that's 60 dollars right there. Then you get 1 game each month with the first three being those PSN games I listed above.

That seems to be a new thing for fighting games, free to download with 1-4 characters and then the rest are extra. Another new fighting game that's coming out is doing the same damn thing.

Adding in that the PS4 has much better hardware than XB1, and I am now sold on that being my next console purchase. Been with XB since the original and Halo, but I'm switching allegiance gladly.

Sorry, but I won't be getting both. I'm just a casual console gamer, so the PS4 is the better deal at the moment. Of course, that could all change, but if this is any indication of how out of touch MS is, then it'll be a long, painful time until they get it close to right.

Also some more ownage from sony. It's been a rough month and half for MS and it just keeps going.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/e3-2013-playstation-4-hard-drive-is-removable-upgradable

It's not only a 500GB hardrive, but it's removable and up gradable similar to the PS3.

Additional details about the PlayStation 4 have begun to emerge following last night's announcements. In addition to be region-free, we've now learned that that the system's500GB hard drive can be removed and upgraded. Sony Worldwide Studio Head, Shuhei Yoshida, confirmed the news via Twitter early this morning. The move gives the PS4 yet another advantage over the Xbox One, which makes the hard drive inaccessible to consumers

MS was never in it to get the Gamer, they wanted to pick them up for the ride. Their ultimate goal for a system was one to replace all the media devices in the living room and be the center of the entertainment experience for families.
