serious question: can microsoft change their 'always online' and 'no sharing games policy'- or is the infrastructure already in place such that this is no longer feasible- I honestly don't know how that works

They can move the restrictions and have codes to unlock the restrictions. Word is though that the codes are only available to rural areas and the Military. They could also move back the online check in as well from 24 hours to live 48 or 72 hours. Used games is tied into the system architecture, so they probably can't change that. They can't move a whole lot on the online connection either.

I just find it hilarious how some of the people in here are writing off Xbox. Lmao.

 

I'm not writing off the Xbox, there will still be a ton sold but I would be SHOCKED if the PS4 wasn't outselling the One 2-1 for awhile.  Parents aren't going to buy an always online system with used game restrictions for their kids....

I would agree with that point, especially considering the kinect is essentially 100 dollars (they are basically forcing you to buy that)

I'm sure people are overreacting. Just like when the PS3 was listed at $700. People will calm down or things will change. Always does. You really think one of the biggest companies in the world doesn't know what they're doing?

Idk I definitely think microsoft will take a hit from this one, not saying xbox1 is going to be a complete failure, but there are plenty of instances of companies taking gambles on things and them not paying off- google+ is an immediate example I can think of 

 

I do agree that people will eventually calm down, but I still foresee PS4 doing better

I use my consoles for everything including games. I buy mine for the exclusives man. I will love and cherish both while I play games, watch HBOGO and browse for porn on IE.

if that's really the case then why did everyone jump from PS to Xbox last gen? it was because MS gave out the better deal, now the tables are turned, you can be like my brother who was so shocked that he called me just now over my facebook post about not going MS next gen and be in denial about it but it's the truth, all the PS fan boys that always argued with me on here thought I wasn't serious when I said I solely go for which ever console is best, been saying it for 9 years on here, 9 freaking years, and now I've jumped ship to sony because they are the best thing going now, what does that say about you? a fan boy in denial.

This times 1000.  Sony made a stand for gamers by forcing developers to accept no restrictions to used games or lose the Sony install base.  They took a chance and will be rewarded ten fold for it.  Not to mention they're taking minimal profit if any at all on the console in order to give more to everyone at a lower rate.  It's not like PS4 won't be able to do the same entertainment things that the Xbox One can.  Sony was handed a fastball down the middle of the plate and they CRUSHED it out of the park....

How can I be a fanboy when I own and love both. I also said Microsoft got Walder Frey'd. All I'm saying is people play games on consoles for exclusives. Both are offering excellent ones. Sounds like you've just been begging for an excuse to slam Microsoft. Don't blame BMW for Mercedes having another cupholder. No matter which one you buy you're getting a great car and they're both going to sell. If you can't see that then I can't help you buddy.

Been pissed off with MS since the Xbox one details were released, I liked MS before that
