Maybe you view them as the baddest player on the field because they're going after one of the baddest athletes in the world. The RBs. LBs are just work out warriors. Different than natural born athletic ability. Even Rays Lewis said he was not the best athlete but he works hard. Anyone can grow muscle out of their ears. The perks in being athletically gifted is you don't have to work as hard. Everyone is just one step slower. That's the origin of Revis island.

Do you just pull these things out of thin air, or do you take a few seconds and think about them?

This is the NFL. If you don't outwork the next guy, you won't have a job for long. The reason? There are a poo ton of athletes all over the field.

Balls dont make sports. Some people run, some endure pain, some people spit watermelon seeds. Every known civilization I know of has something they compete at. Whether its the rites of passage stuff they do in Africa or eating some crazy ass venom sack in Vietnam, to rolling cheese down a hill and chasing after it.

What makes you think billions of people are living peacefully? That was an interesting comment. . . . it makes me think that Im wasting my time talking to you. I dont mean to be offensive with that, just that uhmmm. . .you and I see things differently.

edit: and I didnt say sports eliminate war. I said they help channel some of man's hostilities to a safer and more constructive place.

China 1.2 billion people, peaceful nation

India 1.1 billion people, though poor, but mostly peacefull

Just to start.

"they help channel some of man's hostilities to a safer and more constructive place."

You're probably speaking for yourself on that one. Maybe the cure to our high prison population have been right under our noses all along. A doze of sports. America, country of 315 million people, with the most sports in the world but with the highest prison population. Go figure!

The idea that humanity is innately violent unless they have sport or competition is closed minded thinking. The idea that we're all united in sports and competition is rather laughable. In fact one can argue, especially in europe, sport has been the match that ignites a lot of social violence because some still attempt to use it to prove ethnic supremacy. please, bare in mind competition and sports are not synonymous. If sports were such a uniter then there would be less violence amongst men than women since women follow sport way less. By your logic, there should be women carnage on our streets every day due to the lack of sports in their lives. Lol

Do you know that there are people born in this world who barely ever lift but are naturally cut. Working hard is not making you run a 4.3. That's all I am saying. Majority of those CBs & RBs are like that. Chris Johnson does not spend days at the gym to run a 4.2. For those athletes overworking is counterproductive.

China and India are most certainly not living peacefully as you say and they have loads of sports in both of those countries anyways. What are you trying to say? At no point did that argument ever have any clear logic to substantiate your claim that "Billions of people live peacefully without ever seeing a ball". It was literally worse than the Adam Sandler speech in Billy Madison because. . it wasnt even funny.

here's some notes for you:

What do high prison rates have to do with war? didnt follow on that 1

Why is it close minded? because you say so?

Why is it laughable? because you say so? Again, not too much info there except a kid posturing to look like he knows what hes talking about. Give some points, like I dunno. . .reason. You know something in words that actual might support your claim. I think its super that you can link multiple sentences into a paragraph but try to have a POINT k?

Sports and competition arent synonymous? well of course there not. Sports are a form of competition.

Woman carnage? Women dont play sports? Women dont compete?

Like I said, you and I see things differently. Youre new here, nice to meet you, man. Something you may want to consider is this: People on sports forums arent going to buy your bullshit just because you say it aggressively and call people's logic laughable. Treat people with respect and maybe they will engage you further. Make empty arguments and call others narrow minded. . eh man good luck with that, but I dont think its gonna make you happy in the end.

Bo Jackson comes to mind. But what do a few gifted athletes have to do with what you were trying to say? Do you even remember your original argument?

That's alright. I have a nephew like that. He goes on so many tangents it is impossible to follow him.

If you think there are not gifted athletes all over the field. Fine and Jim Dandy. Just don't think for one minute that almost every player has to work his butt off to get, and keep, his job.

I'm done with this one. Cousin Vinny reference. Carry on dude.

If China and India are not peaceful, then what's the standard?

So, your argument is countries stop going to war because of increase amount of sports in their citizens daily lives? I was giving you the benefit of the doubt by replacing wars with violence. But you actually, really mean countries stop going to war because of an increase consumption of sports. That's kind of cute. It shows you really love your sports. I can't knock that. But that is kind of funny though.

I have a better argument, how about more jobs and better prosperity? People with jobs working 8-12hrs/day and taking care of their kids don't really have time for war. Some fit 2-3hrs of sports watching on their daily schedule but that's not what's preventing them from getting an AK-47, go to the Mexican border and declare war. Lol

I didn't say women don't play sports. Relative to men they play and follow it less.

Also, war is a form of violence. And, people are imprisoned for committing acts of violence. Not mutually exclusive.

Just so you know, poverty and unemployment are the leading cause of war/violence in the world. Sports is never listed as an amelioration strategy by the UN.

Original argument: CBs are born fast. And, no, it's not just a few gifted athletes. They're all gifted. Some are just more gifted than others. I don't how the topic was lost when we're still talking about fast athlete. At no point did I mention anything about flying saucers. Until now, of course. Not that serious, buddy!

Plus, allow the momentum of the topic conclude it since this is  forum, after all. Just don't reply. Peace out!

I know what you didnt say, you lunatic. Apparently you dont get what others are saying. Wtf is the matter with you? why are you rambling all this nonsense at me all of a sudden. Are you insane?

Holy poo this just became creepy with that post

- "So, your argument is countries stop going to war because of increase amount of sports in their citizens daily lives?"

No thats not what I said. I said that Sports are a form of competition and that competition helps direct some of man's need for war to a place where it can be used more constructively. I dont know how much. . . some. . maybe a little. . maybe a lot. Idk because Im not God.

-"whats the standard?"

Idk you crazy bastard, youre making poo up as we go so, lets say they all need to wear big red clown shoes and uhm not be attacking someone.

-"I have a better argument"

No you dont, you have a penchant for rambling about nothing factual and calling people arguments "cute" and "laughable" with out any real facts to back your big talk. More jobs stops wars? really? show me how the Romans were so hurting for jobs that they HAD to attack what is now France, England, and Germany. Show me how Alexander had to conquer half the known world because the Greeks needed jobs. Show me how the Nazi's were hurting for jobs.

-"I didn't say women don't play sports. Relative to men they play and follow it less.

Also, war is a form of violence. And, people are imprisoned for committing acts of violence. Not mutually exclusive."

You didnt say a lot did you. Does this mean anything? what are you trying to say? I said: Women play sports too and that women also compete. You said "Relative to men they play less" which means nothing, then you said "war is a form of violence" which is obvious and again means nothing in relation to what we were talking about. Its like you figured the words would sound good if you posted them and they would just magically make your lost point for you. "People are imprisoned. . " Lol WTF are you talking about?

Just so you know, poverty and unemployment are the leading cause of war/violence in the world. Sports is never listed as an amelioration strategy by the UN.

Nice of you to tell me so bluntly like your quoting it from the latest reddit article that you just fumbled through. Again here you are just stating things without any words to back it. "Sports is never listed as an amelioration by the UN?" Well the UN is most certainly doing a great job with N Korea and Iran so we should certainly see what else they have in store for the peaceful world. Btw werent both of those countries in the Olympics? . . and why would the UN have any power to impose that? 'YOU GUYS TAKE THIS BALL SEE!!! PLAY IT AND LIKE IT SEE!'

Your "cute" attempt to sound like you know what youre talking about is now getting annoying and if I were you I would start backing off right about now before you look any dumber. You come in here and look for a fight? Why? You figured you would be more educated and wittier than anyone in here. Thats a little presumptious isnt it? Not even 150 posts in and here youre looking like a lost 3yr old at a the Carnival of Clowns Who Dont Give a Fug. Enjoy the show, and grow up.

How much longer will this continue "HelloWorld - look at me I need attention"?

So anyways, at this point I have to say the race is between S and DE still for me. No one has come up with anything convincing to suggest that a Safety doesnt have the broadest responsibilities. Doing both the LB and CB's jobs makes him the more diverse athlete in addition to having to read more of the field than either of them.

and I just havent heard anything to discredit the DE yet. That vid of Pierre Paul doing backflips is nutty. Guys that big, that agile, and that fast are a wonder to me. You have to see it in person to appreciate it really.
