Something that I always go back to when Im reading comments about players is. . who really is the most dominant player on the field physically? To me this is much more fun to debate than who had more career yards or who had the most TD's  in games where someone got nut shotted.

DE, no other position demands as much in terms of combining strength, agility, speed, and God-given advantages like height.

You've got to overpower an NFL Offensive Linemen, then sprint to the QB, and try to bring down some of these guys who are boulders like Roethlisberger, or track athletes like RG III. Every single play for them sounds like a ridiculous drill for everyone else.

I have to agree with DE. That is also why I believe going D-line is so important to Gett. It is important to keep them fresh. Is that because they are the most winded? Not IMO. It is because they need to use speed and strength on every play, every single down. Constantly going high motor and constantly trying to knock around the biggest ppl in the league, or run around them. Some are even asked to drop back in coverage, which requires another set of athleticism.

There are athletes at every position. It's hard to say that Steve Smith is not as good of an athlete as Peppers, even though Peppers is a freak of a specimen

boooo this man!

its a poll, not the $25000 question. Get off the fence ya sissy! :)

Haha! The best way to look at the question would be to consider who NEEDS the most athleticism to play his position. Like mentioned earlier Cam has a lot, but doesn't NEED it to play that position. Look at Manning/Brady. Doesnt mean that a QB doesnt have more than a DE.

I think DE, CB, WR, LB, S are all very close, and with the recent TE's of (Davis, Gronk, Hernandez, Graham) you could make an argument for them as well

Pure athlete, Jason Pierre Paul is probably the best

    • Canales was brought in to fix Bryce. That was how he sold himself. He failed.  the panthers need a new qb, someone to coach him, and someone to build a defensive staff.  Canales has failed at developing a new qb. His big draft project XL is trending towards bust. His entire nfl resume before the panthers was one season as offensive coordinator on a stacked Bucs team, and being on the offensive staff when a 31 year old Geno smith finally put it all together. And he didn’t even pick his offensive coordinator. Assuming evero is gone, who’s he got in that phone to call? What low lvl porn addict evangelical from the bucs is ready to be Peter principled? There is nothing in his coaching history or his current performance that indicates he’s the person to move this team forward. Every other team knew this last cycle (panthers were only interview) and nothing has happened to change that perception   all people like you have is “well you can’t do it again it’s too soon but <random interval of time> will be different.  just pull off the bandage. There’s no reason to let this guy draft “his guy” except people wanting an excuse not to fire him after 2025.
    • Both Reich and Canales were saddled with trying to build and establish a viable scoring offense around Bryce Young. The best the offense looked this season and last season was with Andy Dalton who is also terrible but still better than Bryce Young. Which should be all anyone needs to know but still somehow there are weirdos here salivating over a ceiling of maybe on a really good day the 25th best QB in the league. We've already canned one entire staff over our first overall pick. You can fire everyone again to satisfy your need for vengeance and quickly come to the realization that your next hire will absolutely unequivocally be a downgrade yes man or you can blow up this QB room and then assess. If no progress next season then you can make changes and justifiably so.
    • Surprised this is the only post with this take.  This is like the Rhule kiss of death lol.
