Beason's transition to weakside. Shows improvement.

Of course we want Beason to be healthy. We want to buy into the hype.  He can be a beast and with this rotation the Panthers can keep bringing guys in who can be effective. I can surely understand being skeptical about his future given the injuries the past 2 years. But I would think if you are a fan of the team, you would be rooting for his success.  When he is healthy we are a better team. No question. Lets hope he comes back all the way.

Can I be super cool and take a huge dump on everything positive and maybe earn my snarky merit badge if I call this article a fluff piece? I really want to be that guy.

we have snarky merit badges? how do i apply?

this could be one hellacious LB rotation we've got here.

got to be healthy first. when was the last time that happened?

My biggest wonder is who comes off the field when we go nickel, or even dime packages? TD being Sam would seem more likely to remain on the field, but Beast at Will could be a prime blitzer.

Two guys I am not worried about. Beast and Cole, and I guess Kalil as well. Beast said TC was the original goal. But felt like he was ready to go for Mini Camp next week. At least on a limited schedule.

Cole, because he had been out for almost two years was a concern at first. But by all indications he has been working since he signed. If so, he can help that D-line rotation.

It really seems like we are as healthy as we have been in a while. But then again, I hear there are not enough bikes to go around at OTAs. So maybe I ain't as sure as I think I am.

But yeah, if we are healthy, our front 7 can be one of the best. And I can definitely live with that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Blackburn and Klein rotate in on some early 1st & 2nd downs during the game. Since Beast and FrankenKnee are a little older and more injury-prone, cutting down their reps on run plays wouldn't be a bad idea.

Keeps them fresh for when our opponents are having to go to the no-huddle in the second half. And getting Klein some reps wouldn't hurt, either, if we end up parting ways with Beast or FrankenKnee because of their big contract.

Dude, I love your sense of humor. FrankenKnee!

I have to believe it comes down to two things where it concerns depth and playing time at LB. How much Rivera trusts you. And how many packages do you play. I am a firm believer in getting your backups reps. The more versatile you are the more playing time you get. Will have to keep an eye on this to see how the rotation is worked.

This is the third year. For centuries, it has always been the third year. Third year is the litmus test. First year is acclimation. Second year is growth. The third year is when everything finally meshes.

Rivera, third year. Cam, third year. 15-22 starters, third year. Schemes, packages, and concepts, yea, that's right, third year.

If the third year rule holds. We should be in great shape this year.

Davis wasn't injury prone before his knee went out. He finally got it fixed, he should be good to go. Beast has had almost 2 years to heal. From all accounts he is ready to go. I am not worried about either one, but then again I said the same thing last year about Beast. Ooops on that one.

I believe Klein and Blackburn have chance to cement a return ticket with their play this year. You are correct in the fact that Beast has contract issues. So how the depth plays this year is a big deal. Davis, if I remember correctly signed a good contract. Incentive laden, with very little guaranteed. He is not costing much. This year.

tl/dr version. Take two and a half minutes and read it anyway.

Beason was a rookie in 2007, when Dan Morgan was still around. Smutty/Lucas was 2008.

On topic, I hope he's able to approach what TD did last year.

it all runs together. he was still impressive in his  ability to jump in and  take charge at an early age. tbh, i can't remember if i could tell it was him pulling smith off at the time bc it was on the other side of the field, but at that point everything he did was impressive. it didn't surprise me that he would get involved and help out.

it will probably continue to be an LB that gets pulled off in nickel packages. they need more DBs flooding the field in passing downs. beason is probably the weak link of the three in passing situations so it will likely be him. he's also the one who would need to see the least amount of time on the field while he gets his legs back.

I have to agree with you on this one. I would think Beast would be the LB to come out when we go nickel. At least until we see he truly is healthy. But, I believe TD is faster anyway, so leaving him in makes more sense to me.

I can see teams trying to circumvent our front 7 by running 3-4 and even 5 WR sets. The trouble with that is it leaves less blockers behind to protect the QB. I think it all comes down to what the opposition likes to do. If they are a passing team, they may still want to pass. If they like to run the ball to set up the pass, they may be in trouble.

Man, this year can't get here fast enough. Too damm many questions still to be answered.

You boyz will have a good front 7 as long as Davis and Beason can stay on the field, but no team is going to fear your secondary, I expect that your inabilty to upgrade there will  be a real achilles heel for you before 2013 is over .

That secondary was good enough to beat you guys and had it not been for Nakamura's fug up you all would've gotten swept.
