While training camp and preseason are certainly more important, impressing his position coach is far from trivial. Proehl will have a large influence on what receivers we keep.

I will have to say that the Ricky Proehl vote of confidence is enough to make me pause for a little more consideration.  It feels like in the past everyone was just toeing the company line, "He's here, he's one of us, we expect good things."  This is the first real endorsement from the staff that I have even considered to be genuine.

I want the best 53 on the roster. If AE earns that designation then so be it; good for him.

I have nothing against him and it can only help if he realizes his potential.

I agree, if the staff (esp proehl) believe he is improving, then ok. We don't see/kno everything. But this is the first time I can say (and mean it) I trust the GM to put the best out there. And get them to ACTUALLY USE THEM!!! I think he will get the most out of the players he puts on the field.

No they never say that but it would have been a much more reserved or deflective answer probably referring to the WR's as a whole without saying too much about one individual.

i need to see. i won't take the word of any player or coach at face value about anything.

 

it's easy for players and coaches to look good when they are practicing.

Armanti gets a lot of hate here obviously, I don't have anything against the guy. It's not his fault where his was drafted and under what circumstances. That said, we hear this every year. He needs to do it in the regular season. Period.
