53 Man Roster......Not the first and surely not the last...

Recommended Posts

Not if you don't assume that Barner would be the default KR....which isn't a given. For instance if Pilares was second in the KR depth chart, having Ginn do both duties would allow us to cut Pilares.

Right, I was going by the 53 man roster dave had up. He has Ginn at PR and & Barner at KR. Ginn and Barner are the only two mentioned in the huddler's post. Armanti, Adams, and Pilares are not in the 53 man roster dave had. So in order to free up a roster spot (in dave's roster) by assigning just one returner, Barner would have been odd man out according to his "ginn> barner" post. Thought he was going off dave's roster. My bad. I kno Barner is staying. Lol!

99.9% of all threads started between now and training camp are for the most part pointless and full of conjecture.  But at least it kills time and gives us something to talk about.  Alternative would be to shut down the message board, or, better yet, simply choose not to read the thread.

That said, I think speculating about the roster does help to show where our holes are.  I may not agree with the the number of OL and details but I do think we have problems with depth in the secondary and on the OL.  Not sure Gettis gets a helmet this year either.

Good point. I guess its only really an issue when there are a heap of duplicated threads.

A lot of stuff wrong with this roster. We won't take 11 O-Linemen. 9/10 at most. No way we keep 5 DTs. 4 at most. Adams is not getting cut after one season. We will probably only have 5 CBs on the 53 man roster. Clausen will still be on the team.

1st I counted 9 but forget the Center (oops) but, I might agree on 10. But remember one of them is Chandler.  A player that isn't ready to start or even play at Tackle but far to valuable to try to place on PS (not sure he is even available)  So carrying him might be one of those suck it up spots.

We'll keep 5 DTs count on it.  If not Fua, Gaydosh.

Why wouldn't we cut Adams after one season.  We cut a DT after one season.  Adams can't hold onto the ball.  Ginn does what Adams was brought in for and BETTER.

6 CB is not unheard of.  This isn't 1990's football.  Teams are throwing more and more.  In a dime package you have 4 CBs in there.  Keeping six is far more realistic.

Clausen might but shouldn't.  Especially if the the rookie shows he is a better player.  Clausen is like Eric Shelton.  Let him go. Cut your loses.  Keeping him and letting a player that could eventually be a solid backup or even trade bait is better then keeping a BAD MISTAKE.
