53 Man Roster......Not the first and surely not the last...

I don't see Barner being cut either because he can be used on offense, and so can Ginn. So using one or both as a returner won't really make a diff if they are already in a spot. Now keeping someone soley for their kick return ability wouldn't make any sense, but all the players we hav with that ability can contribute on offense, including Barner. So as long as u keep Barner and Ginn, don't really see a major need for the others. And whoever they let go besides those two I don't believe they will be going wrong.

QB- Newton, Anderson, Clausen

RB- Williams, Stewart, Tolbert, Barner

WR- Smith, LaFell,  Hixon, Ginn, Gettis

TE- Olsen, Hartsock, (Rosario or B. Williams)

T-Gross, Bell, G. Williams, (Campbell or Chandler)

G-Silatolu, Hangartner, Kugbila

C- Kalil, Byers

DT- Lotulelei, Edwards, Short, Cole, Gaydosh

DE- Johnson, Hardy, Alexander, (Addison or Roh or camp cut pick up)

LB- Beason, Kuechly, Davis, Klein, Blackburn, Senn

CB- Drayton, Thomas, Norman, Munnerlyn, Moore

S- Godfrey, Mitchell, Campbell, Nakamura

ST- Janson, Nortman, Gano

This leaves 2 spots for either a 6th WR or special teams player (Lester, Jason Willams, Colin Jones, Adams, Armanit (barf), or whatever you want)

Do we still have brockel? Or did we let him go? But other than that pantherfeez, your roster looks about right. Jury still out on nakamura. Id rather keep him as special teams player anyways. But after the falcons game he hasn't had a lot of support. Haha!

For what it's worth, I don't think the poster was insinuating that either should be cut. Rather that only one player would cover return duties and that he thinks Ginn is superior in that regard.

Yeh but he said Gett would only use one to try and free up a roster spot. I was just saying if Ginn and Barner are already part of the WR and RB groups, only having one return will not free up a spot.

Not if you don't assume that Barner would be the default KR....which isn't a given. For instance if Pilares was second in the KR depth chart, having Ginn do both duties would allow us to cut Pilares.

This is true. If it were someone like armanti or pilares, it would free up a roster spot to have ginn double down. Barner isnt going to be cut barring a major altercation.

Bottom line, if someone plays their ass off in preseason and works their butt off in training camp and we want to keep them, there is always a way to find room for that player. You don't have to say well we have to keep this number of DTs, or this number of DBs, or this number of OL, etc.
