FWIW I was kinda turned off on this originally, but the hype is getting to me... I kinda really want to see it now...

Same. Have all three live action ones and the animated film. Going to have a marathon and take the kids to see it. I guess.

I think it's Star Wars Prequel Syndrome.

We want it to be darker/grittier like the comics were and because we're adults now.

The movie is made for today's kids, though.

plenty of dark moments in the original trilogy.  esb is probably the best sci-fi tragedy ever.

 

but they don't have to poo all over the source material.  i can only thank god that the turtles aren't as interchangeable as the transformers are, though i expect the personalities of each to be handled with an explosive hamfist

Funny thing there was dark momments in the first flilm from the 90s version and critics trashed it saying it didnt make sense for it to be that dark for kids..
