NBA Finals Thread - (2) San Antonio Spurs vs. (1) Miami Heat

If Heat don't win the next one they are toast; I expect they will and whoever wins game 5 will ultimately win the series. Heat are in bad shape right now though.

I'm torn, because although I don't particularly like or dislike Lebron; I just want to see greatness. Maybe I should just be happy with Tim Duncan's illustrious career.

Remember at the end of the Pacers series when Lebron said he needed to back to his Cleveland days? Well, it appears that he has. He's my favorite player but this is embarrassing.

honestly blaming this loss on Lebron is a bit tough.

The thing is, though, that the way Lebron plays, it can be hard for other players to get into a serious rhythm.

Duncan is in the twilight of his career.  I want him to win, because Lebron will have a decade to do this.  This may be Duncan's last chance, and he is one of the underappreciated greats.

I think the Heat win on pure talent, and where the Spurs have talent for sure, they win with fundamentals and amazing team play.  Tonight the Heat's talent was not playing like they should, and the "team" of the Spurs took it and dominated.   The Spurs just have an amazing all around team and bench.   Their ball movement was killer, and the Heat couldn't keep up.  They just nickel and dime you to death.

I agree; don't know if you like Bill Simmons but yesterday he pumped out a massive article chronicling Duncan's career

I fully agree with you there.

The team has to be built a VERY strict way to be very successful. He needs elite 3pt shooters and defenders all around him. That's why I never understood the whole "LeBron has no help" in Cleveland thing. Sure, he didn't have multiple all-stars, but he had exactly what he needed to win. He takes players like D-Wade and Bosh down a little bit, because they need the ball to be successful, but LeBron is the best player in the game so obviously he needs to ball at a very high rate (30% or more USG). LeBron basically turns everyone into a spot up shooter and that's how he makes his teammates better. Although, I will say that when D-Wade was healthy he was able to play off of LBJ fairly well since he is so good at moving without the ball these days.

But that is the very reason people blame Lebron when his team doesn't win. When you're the best and most skilled/talented player in the league yet, you disappear in some of the biggest moments, you're going to take blame. His game is such that others can't really get a rhythm, as you said, and because of that he has to be the best player on the court and put the team on his back when necessary, yet he often shrinks in those moments. Lebron is my favorite player in the league, but that is what is so frustrating about him.

Oh now suddenly Lebron has talent around him again? Lmao. I love this place.

Great game, Spurs wasted too many opportunities and got sloppy with the basketball.

So Wade didn't have a good game? Lol, the talent has been there, they just haven't seemed to play well together in clutch moments.

I didn't say that. I'm only stating what anyone without homer glasses on can clearly see.

The many "long time" Heat fans here like to complain Lebron has no help after a loss. Win? "Oh hey the big 3!"
