Ewing coming in for an interview for the lead assistant position and Darvin Ham is interviewing for an assistant position as well.

 


Within the middle of the next week, Lakers assistant coach Darvin Ham will talk with the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Bobcats, according to league sources. Los Angeles Daily News

 


Ham is strongly expected to leave the Lakers, according to league sources, leaving D'Antoni with only his brother, Dan, as the remaining assistant on his coaching staff. Eddie Jordan took the Rutgers head-coaching job before the season ended. Los Angeles Daily News

 

The Charlotte Bobcats are bringing in Hall of Fame center Patrick Ewing for an interview on Wednesday for their lead assistant position, someone close to the situation informed CSNNW.com. According to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, says “It's Ewing's job for the taking.” CSNNW.com

 

When reached by phone, Ewing confirmed he was meeting with head coach Steve Clifford in Charlotte. “Charlotte is a great city and I'm open-minded,” Ewing told CSNNW.com. “I have worked with Steve for many years in Houston and Orlando and I consider him to be a friend. We'll see what they are looking for and see if it'll be a good fit.” CSNNW.com

Darvin Ham used to be one of the top 2-3 dunkers in the NBA

 

Yeah, and the weird thing is, IIRC, he worked specifically with big men in his time in L.A.  I heard he was credited with really helping either Bynum or Howard on a broadcast once, but I can't remember which one it was now.  I'd really like him on the staff.
