Someone in the comments section had a great post about his selections.  He chose 1 offense, 2 defense and 1 special teams guy.  He had Smitty as the GOAT offensive player, Pep as the GOAT Defensive player, Mills because he is already in the ring of honor and has a statue out front, and finally Kasay for being the bedrock of this team for over a decade and a half.

 

I didn't want Pep in it but I have a hard time arguing with his points.  ah hell, I still wouldn't put Peppers on our mountain as he plays(occasionally) for another team at the moment.

one offense, one defense, one special teams...all three of which personifies to me the best of each phase in the history of the team as far as heart is concerned. and the last one is reserved for the one who made it all possible.

Peppers has no business being in the discussion. When talking about monuments and things like this, the "most talented" people aren't the ones that are chosen. It's the people you'd want representing the group. Mills doesn't have a statue in front of our stadium because he's the most talented player we've ever had. It's because he's who JR wanted to represent our team. That's why I think it should be Smitty, Delhomme, Mills and Kasay.
