In Asheville, at LAB, drinking all your ambers

it is being vastly overblown that there are no hot chicks in Asheville.

And The Lab sucks too.

I hearya on the Lab sucking, and of course you can find a pretty girl in Asheville. It's just that percentage of hot girls to hipster/ lez/butch chicks is not good in this town.

Lol. I don't go to the games to pick up girls. I go to the games to get hammered on Dales pale ale, and enjoy time with my girlfriend of three years.

Just saying there is a noticeable lack of talent in Asheville compared to other places in the state/south, as someone who likes to observe my surroundings from time to time.

There is a reason Asheville is voted the 7th worst city in America for singles.

Did you actually read how the rankings were determined? Asheville was ranked low because of the amount of money a young person has, not by their actual looks. Now if cash is the deciding factor on a person's level of attractiveness then that is a YOU problem not the cities problem.

Maybe we read different articles? The one I was referring to was mostly about their not being many young people in Asheville, because its a retirement destination for a while now.

Looks like we will have to agree to disagree, on this.

1. There is a major college here UNCA

2. It is the greatest beer city in America (voted)

Because of this there are TONS of young people, college and young professionals.  I could generalize and say Charlotte is just full of dumb bimbos who love Taylor Swift and can't hold a conversation like people generalize about Asheville being a bunch of butch lesbians and hipsters who listen to Ani Difranco

There is a very eclectic group of attractive and pretty women here and It is an awesome place to live.

Not to nitpick, but UNCA is literally the smallest university in the NC public university system, it's only got 3,500 students. AB Tech CC has almost twice as many students, and Western in Cullowhee has almost 4 times as many.

when i say major i meant it is an attractive school to go to. i didn't realize it was the smallest, but i knew it wasn't big.

I agree Asheville is a great place to live. It's why I choose to live here. I love the beer, and lifestyle. Asheville lost the beer city title this year to Grand Rapids, I've never been there but I call BS on that. Personally you cant beat the Pisgah pale ale, or the French Broad rye hopper.

Young people make up 17.5% of the total population, which is low compared to most other urban areas In the south, and Asheville is far from a college town.

There is a group of very attractive women my age, but it's less so then others places. I don't have a problem with that since I am in a committed relationship, but it is noticeable.

I find the lack of good sports bars more problematic, but that is splitting hairs.

    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
    • I didn't say I would have done it. I was just saying that I can see why some in the FO considered it. Everything was done to give Bryce weapons. Solidify the interior line thru FA. Get XL at WR in round 1 and then get the most talented RB in round 2. Take a TE in round 4, etc They were probably "assuming" he'd make a complete recovery during the 2024 season. I'm a skeptical person. I wouldn't have assumed he'd be ok in 2024. I personally would have taken another position in the 2nd for that very reason. But, if I were "influenced" to take him I would've argued to keep him off the field, especially seeing how things were going for us record wise. Conventional Wisdom says most backs don't get back to normal until two years after the ACL surgery. He was injured in Fall 2023. Having him suit up in 2025 would have been almost 2 years since the original injury. You have him for 3 year on low contract. If he balls out, you resign him for a couple of more years b/c he'd only have 3 years of tread on the tires. If he's ok but not great you let him walk.
