The NFL is a drama. It needs villans to be entertaining. If the media portrayed everyone as they do the god-like Brees, RG3, and Luck; the NFL would be bland.

Cutler, Cam, and Romo are easy targets because they are polarizing. For whatever reason (whether it's Cutler's attitude, Cam's body language, or just the fact that Romo plays for the Cowboys) the media will always swing wildly on these three.

The only way the media will paint these three in a favorable light is if the wins come. If they don't, it makes for far more interesting headlines by pointing our thier flaws and tearing them down.

Say something that is a hint of criticism of Newton and every Auburn and Carolina fan rushes in to whine about it. Clicks mean money in the web world. The same goes for those other guys.

I really believe the media hates Jerry Richardson so much that they are pissed off he has an absolute stud at QB.  They are going to do everything they can to run down Cam in an attempt to get him to leave here in a couple of years.  Then when he goes to one of the chosen franchises the media will return to treating him like the gutless jock sniffers they are with most of the other famous players in the league.

Sounds like he's quoting from the "How to bash, comment on Cam playbook". Lol

 

Mind you, Newton did have one of his worst games against Denver. So I guess he's got some reason to feel that way, though every QB has bad games, especially young ones. 

 

Nonetheless (as some of you guys are saying), it's classless to make a comment like that on a/the top 100 show.

 

I'm assuming it was said after, and not during/a part of Cam's profile and ranking?

 

I guess in a way, you gotta let it roll off your sleeves. Cause Cam was ranked 46 (though I'm sure if they're any other younger QB's ranked higher it will rankle us) on the list, which is probably one of the reasons Bailey was pissed to begin with.

RG3 and Luck will most definitely be higher then Cam Newton on this list.  

 

As for Bailey's comments, they definitely didn't belong in the top 100 spot.

Jeez guys, making something out of nothing.

 

The video is "derogatory" for about 30 secs maybe, and Champ cites that he needs to work on the mental aspect of the game (which I agree with). Champ says potential is off the charts, and he just needs to bring it all together (agree).

 

Otherwise, the video touches on escapability, his quick release, and making plays with his legs. He gets props for his physical talent.

 

You can't give him props for being much of a leader, because he hasn't shown that consistently yet. The fact that he has been voted as a top 10 QB two years in a row is the only thing to take away from the video. Champ is there to address why he isn't a top 5 QB, which he easily could be.

 

From reading the comments and then watching the video, you guys are all nuts.

You're missing the point. I have watched the previous 44 players before Cam's segment and none of them have had anything negative in them at all. I'm sure the 43 after his won't have any negative comments at all. They just love to hate him and take any oppurtunity they can to portray him negatively.

We in the huddle knows him as a football player. Enlighten us, the mighty one.

I really enjoy sparring with you cats. although I sometimes question your sentiments, you love your team, and that's what its all about. just think of the passion the great game of football evokes. its the greatest of all sports, and the nfl is the greatest of all leagues. all of you guys are to be commended for your passion and love for your team.
