Not being difficult...but where are these articles where he stated we are going to a ground an pound O?

tolbert mentioned in a very short interview that shula told the RBs that one thing we're going to do is run the ball, so that means we're going to ground and pound. beyond that...i dunno.

Okay, t I'd like to say I agree we need to add a CB/S but for those who say we can't win games without a good secondary, JUST fuging look at where the secondary ranked for the 2009 Saints and the 2010 Packers, where did it rank you last you wonder? Dead last. 2 back to back Super bowl winners ranked dead fuging last.

Get over it.

2009 - Sharper....

2010 - Woodson....

Those Ds weren't great statistically....but they had HUGE plays thanks to having All Pros stepping up.

Not sure we compare there. They bent....and made huge plays.

I don't want to go back to a John Fox style ground and pound offense, I just want a more balanced attack and more conventional running plays.

Wanting more conventional running plays... wow.  Back in the Fox era, I never thought I would've actually said that about a Carolina Panthers team.

With our front 7, our DBs have one job. Don't get beat deep. Teams will be throwing quicker and shorter this year. Keep the play in front of you and it takes them forever to move down the field. The longer it takes, the more chance for a mistake.

I am interested to see how we play it this year. More bump and run, stay in their grill. Or more zone, where you can keep your eyes up. Zone is softer but it is easier for INTs. Whereas tight man can frustrate an O, but the DBs cant' always see the ball.

My new mantra is, we absolutely must have a decent PR, cuz we are going to force a lot more punts this year.

Both FS. Hopefully our FS can have the same impact. With the pressure our front 4 should provide, this may be a good year for Godfrey.

I don't see this D doing a lot of bending. Unless it is bending the QB over backward.

Both were 2 FS's

Munnerlyn is also a high quality S.

Front had the best pressure last year in the NFL....

We still don't have a player of that caliber....Sharper and Woodson had career resumes so it wasn't like it came out of nowhere. Woodson I think was even DPOY the year prior.

Also, I think GB had a top 5 D when they won the ring. Drop off was later

I think SS is a bigger need than corner. On offense: TE #2 and RG are priorities moving into the season

S in general IMO. Been a weak point both seasons under Rivera. If you can find a FS bring him in....Godfrey shouldn't prohibit that

This is another of those half truths you like so much. Yes we had pressure. When we were fresh. Usually a lot more pressure in the first half, and a lot less pressure in the second half. Especially late in games.

If you could not see our pass rush faded as the game wore on. Then you were not paying attention.

I do not see the need at CB--right now.  Norman was a fifth round rookie who had to play #1 CB---come on, way too early to write him off.  Munnerlyn and Moore, Thomas, Dockery--two or three will step up.

I want to see some 1 year deals for the OL.  If you drafted a RG project then give him 1 year and hire a big, old RG.  Why did Gettlemen stock up at DB, DT, and RB while ignoring the OL-the most important area of the team?

We shall see--sure he is not done.

WR--I do not want, until next year.  Gettis and Hixon and Ginn will make us better for now.
