i'm a huge Friedman fan and had a couple of chances to go hear him speak but couldn't make it happen. i just love his style and perspective.

 

if i were president i would have him on my cabinet for foreign policy in a flash. i know at least two huddlers here that despise him but oh well.

Communist Manifesto then Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-Tung. Almost took my seminar on Mao but switched to Captain Cook's voyages to the Polynesian Islands at the last minute because the Professor was really fuging good.

Keith Richards "Life" is outstanding.

If you want to go back a ways, read "Kon-Tiki" by Thor Heyerdahl...fascinating.
